AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CONCEALED WEAPONS
AND THE POSSESSION OR SALE OF CERTAIN
DANGEROUS WEAPONS; AMENDING THE ST. LOUIS PARK
ORDINANCE CODE BY ADDING SECTIONS
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The St. Louis Park Ordinance
adding the following sections to read:
Section 4:260. Dangerous Weapons.
is guilty of a misdemeanor:
Code, Chapter 4, is amended by
Whoever does any of the following
(1) Is not a law enforcement officer and wears under his clothes
or otherwise conceals about his person any dangerous weapon.
(2) Recklessly handles or uses a gun or other dangerous weapon
or explosive so as to endanger the safety of another; or
(3) Intentionally points a gun of any kind, capable of injuring
or killing a human being and whether loaded or unloaded, at or toward another; or
(4) Manufactures or sells for any unlawful purpose any weapon
known as a sl!sng-shot or sand club; or
(5) Manufactures,'transfers, or possesses metal knuckles or a
switch blade knife opening automatically; or
(6) Possesses any other dangerous article or substance for the
purpose of being used unlawfully as a weapon against another; or
(7) Sells or has in his possession any device designed to silence
or muffle the discharge of a firearm; or
(8) Without the parent's or guardian's consent, furnishes a
child under 14 years of age, or as a parent or guardian permits such child to
handle or use, outside of the parent's or guardian's presence, a firearm or
airgun of any kind, or any ammunition or explosives; or
(9) Furnishes a minor under 18 years of age with a firearm,
airgun, ammunition, or explosive without the written consent of his parent or
guardian or of the police department or of a magistrate
"Dangerous weapon means any firearm, whether loaded or unloaded, or any device
designed as a weapon and capable of producing death or great bodily harm, or
any other device or instrumentality which, in the manner it is used or intended
to be used, is calculated or likely to produce death or great bodily harm.
Section 4:260.01. The city manager, the chief of police or any
police officer is authorized and empowered to seize and confiscate in the name
of the city all dangerous weapons used, by the owner QQr any other with his
knowledge, in an unlawful act. Articles which have no lawful use may be sum-
marily destroyed. All other articles may be retained or use of the city or
sold at the highest price obtainable, in the -manner pre$cribed by the city
manager. \
Section 2. Penalty. Any person violating the proviBions of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall,i�e punished by a
fine of not more than $300.00 or by imprisonment for a period of not to exceed
90 days or both.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 15 days
after its publication.

been the vice president and printer of the newspaper known at The St Louis Park Sun and
has full knowledge of the facts herein stated as follows (1) Said newspaper is printed in the
English language in newspaper format and in column and sheet form equivalent in printed
space to at least 900 square inches (2) Said newspaper is a weekly and is distributed at least
once each week (3) Said newspaper has 50% of its news columns devoted to news of local
interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not wholly duplicate any other
publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and advertisements. (4) Said
newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports to serve, has at least
500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75% of its total
circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as second-class
matter in its local post -office (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the City of St Louis Park,
Golden Valley School District No. 275 and Robbinsdale School District No 281 in the County
of Hennepin and it has its known office of issue in the City of Bloomington in said county,
established and open during its regular business hours for the gathering of news, sale of
advertisements and sale of subscriptions and maintained by the managing officer or persons
in its employ and subject to his direction and control during all such regular business hours
and devoted exclusively during such regular business hours to the business of the news-
paper and business related thereto (8) Said newspaper files a copy of each issue immediately
with the State Historical Society. (7) Said newspaper has complied with all the foregoing conditions
for at least two years preceding the day or dates of publication mentioned below (8) Said
newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January 1, 1968 and each
January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed
by the publisher of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper
is a legal newspaper

Section 4.260 01 The city manager,

In The Matter Of
