ORDINANCE NO. 1238
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING VARIOUS LEGAL PROVISIONS
RELATING TO AGE FROM 21 YEARS OF AGE TO 18 YEARS
OF AGE; GRANTING 18, 19 AND 20 -YEAR-OLDS POWERS,
DUTIES, RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS; REDEFINING THE
TERMS MINOR, ADULT, MINORITY, MAJORITY, AND
LEGAL OR FULL AGE; AMENDING THE ST. LOUIS PARK
ORDINANCE CODE SECTIONS 2:108 (a), 2:1307,
2:230 (3), 4:705, 4:854 AND 4:855; AMENDING
THE INTRODUCTORY PROVISIONS BY ADDING
SUBDIVISIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF ST. LOUIS PARK ORDAINS:
Section 1. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 2:108 (a),
is amended to read:
Section 2:108. Conditions of License and Regulations:
(a) Employment of Minors; Sale to Minors and Intoxicated
Persons Prohibited. No person shall sell non -intoxicating
malt liquor to any minor nor to any intoxicated person. No
minor shall be employed in any place where non -intoxicating
malt liquor is sold or served in any capacity relating to
the selling or serving thereof, except that a person who
has attained the age of 17 years may be employed in any
restaurant licensed for the sale of non -intoxicating
malt liquor, the principal part of the business of which
is the serving of food.
Sec. 2. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 2:1307 (b), is
amended to read:
Section 2:1307. Conditions of License.
(b) No Minor shall be:
1. Sold liquor;
2. Granted a liquor license;
3. Employed in any room constituting the place in which
intoxicating liquors are sold retail at "on sale", except that
minors may be employed to perform the duties of a busboy or
dishwashing services in places defined as a restaurant or hotel
or motel serving food in rooms in which intoxicating liquors
are sold at retail "on sale"; provided that no busboy or
dishwasher who is a minor may be employed to perform duties
behind a bar or service counter from which intoxicating liquors
are sold or dispensed.
4. Allowed on a licensed premises except as
otherwise provided in this section or except in the
dining area of a restaurant or hotel for the purpose
of consuming food.
Sec. 3. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 2:230 (3), is
amended to read:
Section 2:230. Practices Prohibited.
(3) To suffer or permit any minor to enter or remain
in such billiard hall or place.
Sec. 4. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 4:705, is amended
to read:
Section 4:705. Misrepresenting Age to Buy Liquor. No person
who has not yet attained the age of majority shall represent
to any person duly licensed to sell intoxicating liquors, or
non -intoxicating malt liquors, that he is in fact of the age
of majority, for the purpose of purchasing or otherwise obtaining
any such liquor.
Sec. 5. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 4:854, is amended
to read:
Section 4:854. Employment of Minors. It shall be unlawful
for any person to employ any minor in any rooms constituting
the place in which alcoholic beverages are sold at retail
"on sale" or "off sale" except that minors may be employed
to perform the duties of a busboy or dishwashing services
in places defined as a restaurant or hotel or motel serving
food in rooms in which intoxicating liquors are sold at
retail "on sale", and excepting, further, that a person
who has attained the age of 17 years may be employed in any
restaurant licensed for the sale of non -intoxicating malt
liquor, the principal part of the business of which is the
serving of food.
Sec. 6. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 4:855, is amended
to read:
Section 4:855. Sales and Deliveries Prohibited. It shall be
unlawful for any person to sell, deliver or furnish any
alcoholic beverage for any purpose to any minor, nor shall
any minor receive delivery of such alcoholic beverage.

Sec. 7. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Introductory Provisions,
Section III, is amended by adding subdivisions to read:
(8) Disabilities of Minority; Termination at Age 18. Except
as otherwise provided by statute or ordinance, every disability
of minority shall cease when a person reaches 18 years of age.
(9) Definitions. The terms defined in this section shall have
the meanings given them for the purpose of any ordinance of
St. Louis Park now in force, and for the purposes of any
ordinance of St. Louis Park enacted in the future unless a
different meaning is specifically attached to the terms or
the context clearly requires different meaning.

with the State Historical Society (7) Said newspaper has complied with all the foregoing
conditions for at least two years preceding the day or dates of publication mentioned below
(8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January 1, 1966
and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State

Section 1 The St Louis Park Ordmance
Code, Section 2 108 (a), is amended to
read
