LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION PLAN, COMPENSATION PLAN, BASIC PERSONNEL POLICY AND CONDITIONS OF CITY EMPLOYMENT: SECTION 1:308 COMPENSATION PLAN; SECTION 1:316 SICK LEAVE THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. The City Council hereby declares that an emergency exists and that an emergency ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, morals, safety or welfare in accordance with Section 3.05, 3.06, 3.08 and 5.06 of the Charter of the City of St. Louis Park. Section 2. That Section 1:308 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code entitled, Compensation Plan' is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1:308 (A) (1) Basic Tables of Numbered Pay Ranges. Each numbered pay range in the basic tables consists of a minimum and maximum bi-weekly rate with inter- mediate pay steps at approximately five par cent (5%) intervals. A Position Classification Assignment Table. The Council shall by resolution establish, and from time to time revise, a table which shall assign all of the various classifications in the Position Classification Plan to the appropriate pay range number in the Basic Table of Numbered Pay Ranges. Section 2. That Section 1:316 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code entitled "Sick Leave' is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1:316. Sick Leave. A. Accrual and Eligibility. Sick leave with pay shall accrue at the rate of one working day for each calendar month of full-time employment or major fraction thereof. Sick leave so accrued shall not be available for use until after satisfactory completion of the initial (not promotional) probationary period. During sick leave each employee shall receive compensation at his regular rate of pay. Sick leave shall be granted only for absence from duty because of personal illness, legal quarantine, or serious illness in the immediate family when the attending physician certifies that the employee's attendance and assistance to the member of the family who is ill is necessary. Sick leave may be accumulated to a total of not more than 120 working days, provided, however, that the City Manager is authorized to extend benefits under exceptional circumstances beyond such accumulated sick leave. Workmen's Compensation benefits received by an employee shall be credited against the compensation due an employee during sick leave with a corresponding credit to earned sick leave computed to the nearest multiple of one-half day. An additional leave of absence with pay for not to exceed three working days during each twelve (12) months of employment after the first twelve (12) months of employ- ment, may be granted on account of a death in the immediate family of the employee. Such leave shall not be accumulative in the event it is not used. • • • Section 3. The City Council hereby declares that an emergency exists in connection with said compensation plan, justifying and requiring that this ordinance upon its passage on the date hereof shall become effective immediately without publication. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect January 1, 1970. (7) Said news- paper has complied with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day e or dates of publication mentioned below.
