LOUIS PARIK ORDINANCE CODE, RELATING TO RESIDENCE REQUIREIMMENTS FOR CITY EMPLOYEES THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That the Section 1:303, Subdivision C of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code entitled "Relationship to Other City Personnel and Residence" is hereby amended to read as follows: Subd. C. Relationship to Other City Personnel and Residence. Whenever possible, and with due regard for merit and fitness, the appointing authority shall avoid the appointment of any person related to any elected or appointed officer or employee of the City. :`_ person shall be regarded as "related" as used in this paragraph, if such person is a brother, sister, spouse, or lineal ancestor or descendant of the prospective employee, or the husband or wife of any such brother, sister, ancestor, or descendant, or the first cousin or the spouse of the first cousin of the prospective employee. All department heads and charter subordinate officials, except those heretofore employed under agreements containing no residence requirements, shall become and remain a resident of the City, within one year after completion of the probationary period and during the period of their employment. The city manager shall designate those certain positions described in the City of St. Louis Park Position Classification Plan having essential emergency duty assignments and for each such position shall specify in the job description in said Position Classification Plan, the response time required for such worker to respond to an emergency call. e • All employees now holding such positions, or hereafter appointed thereto, within one year after completion of the probationary period and during the period of their employment, shall reside at a place which is within a distance from the City Hall of St. Louis :ark which makes it possible for each such employee to arrive at the City Hall within the required response time period after receipt of the call to emergency duty. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its publication. Adopted by the City Council May 19, 1969. (7) Said news- paper has complied with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day or dates of publication mentioned below (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January 1, 1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed by the publisher of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper He further states on oath that the printed ORDINANCE lvO.
