LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 995 ADOPTED FEBRUARY 20, 1967 REGULATING ELECTRICAL WORK, SECTION 2:610 REGISTRATION REQUIRED, SECTION 2:611 APPLICATION, SECTION 2:612 LIABILITY INSURANCE', SECTION 2:613 CERTIFICATE OF MISURANCE, AND SECTION 2:614 COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section I. That Sections 2:610 through 2:614 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code are hereby amended to read as foliocrs: Section 2:610. Registration Reryuired, No person during any calendar year shall engage in the business of erecting, constructing, or changing any electrical installation, work, or wiring in the City of St. Louis Park without having registered with the City Manager in the manner hereinafter set forth. Section 2:611. Application. Every application for such registration shall state the actual place of business of the applicant, the place of residence of the applicant, and such other information as the City Manager shall require and shall be accompanied by a certificate from the State Board of Electricity of the State of Minnesota certifying that the applicant has been gra .ted a State of Minnesota Electrical Contractor License currently i : force and an insurance policy as set forth in Section Z:612: or a cert:.i tate as rc luired by Section 2:613. Section 2:612, Liability L-,.surance. No registration shall be effective under this ordinance until :.he registrant shall have filed with the City Clerk a policy or certificate of in: srance insuring the City against liability for personal injury, in_clu:::ing accidental death, and for the damage to property on account of the work done by the registrant in a sum of at least $50, 000, including accidental death to any one person and in an arnount of not less than $100,000 on account of one accident and property damage insurance in amount not less than $10, 000 in a form approved by the City Attorney. Section 2:613. Certificate of Insurance. The Contractor shall furnish certificates executed by the authorized representative of the insurer issuing each of the policies required herein and certifying to the insurance • 1 coverage herein required, and stating that the policy will not be canceled on less than 15 days notice given to the City. Upon request by the City, the Contractor shall promptly furnish to the City for examination at any time from time to time all contractscr insurance required under this article. Section 2:614. Compliance with Regulations. No person shall erect, construct, or change any electrical installation, work or wiring within the City of St. Louis Park anless registered under this ordinance and unless in conformity with the requirements of Sections 5:501 and 5:504 of this Code, and all ordinances of,the City applicable thereto. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its publication. Reference • AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION St. Louis Park Dispatch 12 Suburban Square Hopkins, Minnesota State of Minnesota 1, County of Hennepin ! S5. W. JOHN BERTRAM, being duly sworn, on oath says he is and during all the times herein stated has been the general manager and printer of the newspaper known as The St Louis Park Dispatch and has full knowledge of the facts herein stated as follows (1) Said newspaper is printed in the English language in newspaper format and in column and sheet form equivalent in printed space to at least 900 square inches. (2) Said newspaper is a weekly and is distributed at least once each week (3) Said newspaper has 50% of its news columns devoted to news of local interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not wholly duplicate any other publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and advertisements (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports to serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75% of its total circulation currently paid or no more than three months m arrears and has entry as second-class matter in its local post -office (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the City of St Louis Park in the County of Hennepin and it has its known office of issue m the City of Hopkins in said county, established and open during regular business hours for the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and main- tained by the managing officer or persons in its employ and subject to his direction and con- trol during all such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such regular business hours to the business of the newspaper and business related thereto (6) Said news- paper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society (7) Said news- paper has complied with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day or dates of publication mentioned below (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January 1. 1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed by the publisher of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper. That Sections 2 610 through 2 614 of the St Louis Park Ordinance Code are hereby amend- ed to read as follows Section 2:610 Registration Re- quired. No person during any calendar year shall engage in the business of erecting, con- structing, or changing any elec- trical installation, work, or wir- ing in the City of St Louis Park - without having registered with the City Manager in the manner hereinafter set forth Section 2.611 Application. Ev ery application for such registra- tion shall state the actual place of business of the applicant, the place of residence of the appli- cant, and such other information as the City Manager shall re- quire and, shall be accompanied by a certificate from the State Board of Electricity of the State of Minnesota certifying that the applicant has been granted a State of Minnesota Electrical Contractor License currently in force and an in- surance policy as set' forth in Section 2 612 or a certificate as required by Section 2 613 Section 2 612 Liability Insur- ance No registration shall be effective under this ordinance un- til the registrant shall have filed with the City Clerk a policy or certificate of insurance insuring the City against liability for per- sonal injury, including accidental death, and for the damage to property on account of the work, done by the registrant in a sum of at least 850,000. including ac- cidental death to any one person and in an amount of not less than 8100.000 on account of one accident and property damage insurance in amount not less , than $10,000 in a form approved by the City Attorney Section 2.613 Certificate of Insurance.
