AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF
REX AVENUE
THE CITY OF ST, LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. It is hereby determined that a petition in writing, signed by
, all of the owners of property abutting upon both sides of the street hereinafter
described, has been duly filed with the City Clerk, requesting vacation of said
portion of street, and the City Clerk having furnished a copy of said petition to
the City Manager who has reported filing of same to the City Council, and the
Clerk having published notice in the official City newspaper, the St. Louis Park
Dispatch, on November 16, 1967, as directed by the Council, and the City
Council having met at the time and place as published in said notice and having
conducted a public hearing on said petition and having determined that said
portion of street is not needed for public purposes, and that it is for the best
interests of the public that said portion of street be vacated as petitioned.
Section 2. The following described portion of street, as now dedicated
and laid out within the corporate limits of the City of St. Louis Park, is hereby
vacated:
That portion of Rex Avenue described as commencing at the North-
easterly corner of Lot 1, Block 161, Rearrangement of St. Louis
Park; thence Southeasterly along the Northeasterly line of said
Block 161 to the Southeasterly corner of- Lot 13, said Block 161;
thence Northeasterly along a Northwesterly line of Lot 14, said
Block 161, and its Northeasterly extension to the intersection of
such extension with the Southeasterly extension of the Southwesterly
line of Lot 6, Block 160, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park; thence
Northwesterly along said extension and the Southwesterly line of
Lot 6, Block 160, to the Northwesterly corner of Lot 6, said Block
160; thence Southwesterly along the Southeasterly line of Lake Street
to the point of be ginning.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to prepare a Notice of
Completion containing a copy of this ordinance and to file the same for record
forthwith in the Office of the Register of Deeds or Registrar of Titles, in and
for the County •of Hennepin, Minnesota, as the case may be.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its
publication.

W JOHN BERTRAM, being duly sworn, on oath says he is and during all the times herein stated
has been the general manager and printer of the newspaper known as The St Louis Park
Dispatch and has full knowledge of the facts herein stated as follows (1) Said newspaper is
printed in the English language in newspaper format and in column and sheet form
equivalent in printed space to at least 900 square inches (2) Said newspaper is a weekly and
is distributed at least once each week. (3) Said newspaper has 50% of its news columns devoted
to news of local interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not wholly
duplicate any other publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and
advertisements. (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports
to serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of
at least 75% of its total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears
and has entry as second-class matter in its local post -office (5) Said newspaper purports to
serve the City of St Louis Park in the County of Hennepin and it has its known office of
issue in the City of Hopkins in said county, established and open during regular business
hours for the gathering of ,news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and main-
tained by the managing officer or persons in its employ and subject to his direction and con-
trol during all such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such regular
business hours to the business of the newspaper and business related thereto (6) Said news-
paper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society (7) Said news-
paper has complied with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day
or dates of publication mentioned below (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of
State of Minnesota prior to January 1, 1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the
form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed by the publisher of said newspaper and
sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper

hereto attached as a part hereof was cut from the columns of said newspaper, and was printed
and published therein in the English language, once each week, for 1 successive weeks,
