ORDINANCE NO. 949
AUGUST 30, 1965
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING
OR STORAGE OF BOATS AND TRAILERS, HOUSE
TRAILERS, AND SEMITRAILERS ON PUBLIC
STREETS AND GROUNDS
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Parking or storing trailers, boats, boat trailers, house trailers
and semi -trailers shall be regulated as follows:
Section 3:137. 1. Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the terms
deAed in this section shall have the meanings herein ascribed to them as
follows:
Subdivision 1. Semi -trailer. "Semi -trailer" means every
vehicle without motive power designed for carrying persons or pro-
perty and for being drawn by a motor vehicle and so constructed
that some part of its weight and that of its load rests upon or is
carried by another vehicle.
Subdivision 2. Stand. "Stand" means the halting of a vehicle,
whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose
of and while actually engaged in receiving or discharging passengers
or loading or unloading property.
Subdivision 3. Street. "Street" means the entire width between
boundary lines of any way or place when any part thereof is open to the
use of the public, as a matter of right, for the purposes of vehicular trade.
Subdivision 4. Trailer. "Trailer" means every vehicle with-
out motive power designed for carrying persons or property and for
being drawn by a motor vehicle and so constructed that no part of its
weight rests upon the towing vehicle.
Subdivision 5. Vehicle. "Vehicle" means every device in, upon,
or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn
upon a highway, except devices moved by human power or used exclusively
upon stationary rails or tracks. .....—
Section 3:137. 2. No person shall park, stand or store a trailer, boat,
boat and trailer, house trailer, or semi -trailer, on any public street, alley,
or public grounds for more than twelve hours of any calendar day.

Section 2. Penalty. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance
shall - be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine
of not more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not to exceed 90
days.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after
its publication.
Adopted by the City Council August 30, 1965.
