LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Food Handlers shall be regulated as follows in connection with chest X-rays and tuberculosis: Section 2:1860. 1. Food Handler Defined. The term food handler, as used herein, shall mean any person 18 years of age or older who handles prepares, or serves food or drink, or comes into contact with any eating, cooking, drinking utensil or equipment in the course of his employment in any Food Establishment as defined in Section 2:1800. 17 and licensed as a Retail Candy Shop under Sections 2:1802. 11 or as a Food Establishment under 2:1802. 17 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Ordinance No. 785 relating to Food Establishments passed May 22, 1961. Section 2:1860.3. Food Handler's Card. No person shall work as a food handler unless he shall have a certificate from a duly licensed facility, or a statement signed by a licensed physician, hereinafter called a "card, " which states that on the date thereof such person is free from tuberculosis in a communicable stage based upon a chest X-ray examination or upon a negative tuberculin test. Such cards, unless revoked, shall be valid for a period of twelve months from date of issuance or from the date of the X-ray or tuberculin test if the card be not dated as to issuance. Section 2:1860. 5. Persons Affected with Tuberculosis in a Commun- icable Stage. No person affected with tuberculosis in a communicable stage shall work as a food handler. Any person having a Food Handler's card who shall be affected with tuberculosis in a communicable stage shall surrender such card to the Health Officer of the City of St. Louis Park or his authorized repre sentative. Section 2:1860.7. Duty of Employee. Such card must be filed at the place of employment or must be carried by the employee and shall be pre- sented upon request to the Health Officer of the City of St. Louis Park. or his authorized representative. Section 2:1860. 9. Duty of Owner, Operator, or Manager of Food Establishment. Penalty. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall b.�e guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not to exceed 90 days. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its publication. Adopted by the City Council Augus, 1965.
