Home My WebLink About854 - ADMIN Ordinance - City Council - 1962/10/01• ID ORIGINAL SEPTEMBER 24, 1962 7D ORDINANCE NO. 854 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATING, PARKING, STORING, REPAIRING, SERVICING AND MAINTAINING OF RACING CARS, STOCK CARS AND JUNK CARS THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Operating, Parking, Storing, Repairing, Servicing and Main - taunt; of Racing Cars. Stock Cars, and Junk Cars shall be regulated as follows: Section 3:200. Definitions. The following words and terms, wherever they occur in this ordinance a -e defined as follows: Person: Person means a natural person, firm, association, partnership or corporation, and any agent of any of the aforesaid. Racing Car: R.:cing car means any motor vehicle designed or intended for operation on a speedway, racetrac':, or other facility used or designed for high spee i contests between two (2) or more vehicles or for timing of speed. Stock Car: Stock car means any motor vehicle of standard design and construction which is modified, adapted or altered in any manner to in- crease its speed or safety, and designed or intended for operation on a speed- way, racetrack, or other facility used or designed for high speed contests between tl.vo (2) or more vehicles or for timing of speed. Junk Car: Junk car Leans any motor vehicle which is not in orerable condition, or which is partially dismantled, or which is used for sale of parts or as a source of repair or replacement parts for other •fehiclks, or which is kept for scrapping, dismantling, or salvage of any !-ind, or which is not properly licensed for operation within the State of iviinnesota by the State of Iviinnc:;ota. Section 3:201. Parking and Storage. No person shall park, keep, place, or store or permit the parking or storage of a stock car, racing car, or jun!: car on a public street or alley, or on any private lands or premises which he owns, occupies, or controls unless it shall be withi-1 a building on such private premise 3. Section 3:202. Repair. Service, or Maintaining. No person shall service, repair , replac• ; arts or do !na..ntenance 1.vork on a stork car, racing car, or junk car on a p•ib):c street nor on any private lands or premises unless it shall be within a building on such private premises. Section 3:203. Operation. No person shall drive or operate a stock car or racing car upon the streets and alleys within the limits of the City of St. Louis Park. 1 • Section 3:204. Separability. Should any section, subdivision, clause or other provision of this ordinance be declared by a court of competent juris- diction to be invalid such decision shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole nor of any part thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid. Section 2. Penalty. Any person violatirg the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not to exceed 90 days. ection 3. Effective Daae . This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its publication.
