LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That the following sections of Ordinance 730, passed December 28, 1959, entitled "St. Louis Park Zoning Ordinance" are amended to read as follows: REOTJIRED YARDS AND OPEN SPACES Section 6.045. 2 - Subd. 3. In side or rear yards only• bays not to exceed a depth of two (2) feet nor to contain an area of more than twenty (20) square feet, fire escapes not to exceed a width of three (3) feet, fences or walls not to exceed a height of six (6) feet above grade in all districts, off-street parking in the "R-1'., "R-2", and "R-3" Use Districts; railroad spurs and sidings for loading and unloading of railroad cars in "I-1" and "I-2" Districts. Section 6 045.3. No front yard or side yard shall be used for storage or display of merchandise in any district, nor required off-street parking in the "R-4", "B", and "I" Use Districts. PERMITTED ACCESSORY USES IN R-4 DISTRICT Section 6.093.3. Private swimming pool for one (1) or more families provided that such pool is adequately fenced and located not less than twelve (12) feet from any lot line nor twelve (12) feet from any structure on the same lot. Page 2. • • • PERMITTED USES IN B-1 DISTRICT Section 6.111.2 - Subd. 35. Jewelry store and watch repair. GENERAL PROVISIONS (non -conforming use of land) Section 6:042.6. Any lawful non -conforming use_of land not involving a structure including but not limited to off-street parking, and any lawful non -conforming use involving a structure including but not limited to signs, with an assessor's full and true valuation upon the effective date of this ordinance of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or less, may be continued for a period of forty-eight (48) months after the effective date of this ordinance, whereupon such non -conform- ing use shall cease. CFF -STREET PARKING Section 6:172.2 - Subd. 4.- Yards - Parking areas shall be subject to front yard and to side yard requirements on a street abutting a corner lot in accordance with the requirements for the Use District in which the parking is located, except that when such use is off-street parking as permitted in Sections 6.062. 6, 6:072. 1, 6.082.1, such side and front yard depths may be reduced to not less than fifteen (15) feet. Section 6 172. 2 - Subd. 7. Benches in Places of Public Assembly - In stadiums, sports arenas, churches, and other places of public assembly in which patrons or spec- tators occupy benches, pews or other similar seating facilities, each twenty-two (22) inches of such seating facilities shall be counted as one (1) seat for the pur- pose of determining requirements for off-street parking. Section 6:172.3 - Subd. 7. Curbing and Landscaping - All open off-street parking area designed to have head -in parking along the interior property line shall provide a bumper curb not less than three (3) feet from such property line or a guard of normal bumper height not less than one (1) foot from such property line. When such area is for six (6) spaces or more and not located to the rear of a Page 3. building, a curb or fence not over three (3) feet in height shall be erected along the front yard setback line and grass or planting shall occupy the space between sidewalk and such curb or fence, provided, however, Aiken the off-street parking area in the "B", "I-1", and "I-3" Districts is to be located between a front lot line or a side lot line abutting a street and a building, said off-street parking area may extend to within six (6) feet of such lot line and all areas between such off-street parking areas and the lot line shall be landscaped with grass or planting; and a solid bumper, curb, or fence not more than three and one-half (3-1/2) feet in height shall be constructed in such a position and such a manner that no part of a parked vehicle can extend over the landscaped area. Section 6:172. 3 - Subd. 8. Parking Space Abutting "R" Districts - When a required off-street parking space for six (6) cars or more is located abutting to an "R" District, a fence of adequate design, not over *ix (6) feet in height nor less than three and one -hall (3- 1/2) feet shall be erected along the "R" District property line, except no portion of such fence located within the required front yard shall be in excess of three and one-half (3-1/2) feet in height.
