SECTIONS OF THE ST. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE
CODE RELATING TO THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION
PLAN, COMPENSATION PLAN, BASIC PERSONNEL
POLICY AND CONDITIONS OF CITY EMPLOYMENT
SECTION 1:310 WORK WEEK AND WORK DAYS,
1:315 VACATION LEAVE, 1:321 REST PERIODS
AND HOLIDAYS
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the following sections of the St. Louis Park Ordinance
Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
(WORK WEEK AND WORK DAYS)
Section 1:310 of the Code shall be amended to read as follows:
Section 1:310 Work Week and Work Days Each employee,
other than firemen, but including the fire chief shall have a regular work week
of forty hours as established by schedules submitted by each department head and
approved by the City Manager, and the regular work day shall be eight working
hours. The regular annual work requirement for firemen, other than the chief,
shall be one hundred and twenty seven days per year. Each of said days shall
consist of twenty-four hours of continuous duty with no reductions therefrom for
holidays and Kelly days; and for the purposes of determining vacation leave for
firemen, said twenty-four hour period shall be referred to as a firemen's work
day.

Section 1:315, Paragraph A, of the Code shall be amended to read as

A. How Much
1. Each employee, other than firemen, but including the
fire chief, having less than nine years consecutive full-time service shall earn
vacation leave at the rate of one working day for each calendar month of full-
time employment or major fraction thereof for the first ten months of each
twelve month period. Each employee with more than nine but less than nineteen
consecutive years of full-time service shall earn vacation leave at the rate of
one and one-half working days for each calendar month of full-time employment
or major fraction thereof for the first ten months of each twelve month period;
and each employee with nineteen years or more of consecutive full-time em-
ployment shall earn vacation leave at the rate of two working days for each
calendar month of full-time service or major fraction thereof for the first ten
months of each twelve month period. During vacation leave each employee
shall receive compensation at his regular rate of pay.

2. Firemen, other than the chief, having less than nine
years consecutive full time service shall earn vacation at the rate of one
twenty-fo ur hour firemen's working day for every three calendar months
of full-time employment or major fraction thereof for the first nine months
of each twelve month period. Each fireman with more than nine but less
than nineteen consecutive years of full-time service shall earn vacation
leave at the rate of two twenty-four hour fireman's working days for every
three calendar months of full-time employment or major fraction thereof
for the first nine months of each twelve month period; and each fireman with
nineteen years or more of consecutive full-time employment shall earn
vacation leave at the rate of one twenty-four hour firemen's working day for
each calendar month of full-time employment or major fraction thereof for
the first nine months of each twelve month period. During vacation leave
each fireman shall receive compensation at his regular rate of pay.
REST PERIODS AND HOLIDAYS
Section 1:321 of the Code shall be amended to read as follows:
Section 1:321 Rest Periods and Holidays
A. All regular employees when working under conditions
where the use of a break period is practicable as determined by the division or
department head, shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute break period in the
forenoon and a fifteen (15) minute break period in the afternoon of each work
day.
B. The following legal holidays shall be observed as holidays
for City employees:
New Year's Day
Lincoln's Birthday
Washington's Birthday
Good Friday
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Columbus Day
Labor Day
Armistice Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
When New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, or
Christmas Day fall on Sunday, the following day shall be observed as a holiday.
Work by employees who are required to be on duty on any holiday
shall be compensated for on the basis of one and one-half times the regular
rate of pay, either by cash payment or by compensatory time off, as in the
manner prescribed for overtime payment by Section 1:314 of this ordinance.
None of this Section 1:321 shall apply to members of the Fire
Department except that it shall apply to the Chief.

its publication.

of its news columns devoted to local news of interest to said community it purports to serve, the
press work of which has been done in its said known place of publication, has contained general
news, comments and miscellany, has not duplicated any other publication, has not been entire-
ly made up of patents, plate matter and advertisements, has been circulated at and near its said
Place of publication to the extent of 240 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has been
entered as second class mail matter In local post office of its said place of publication, that there
has been on file in the office of the County Auditor of said county the affidavit of a person hav-
ing first hand knowledge of the facts constituting its qualifications as a newspaper for publication
of legal notices, and that its publishers have complied with all demands of said County Auditor
for proofs of its said qualification A copy of each issue has been filed with the State Historical
Society, St Paul.
