LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE, RELATING TO COMPENSATION PLAN SECTION 1:308, EN- TITLED "COMPENSATION OF CITY EMPLOY- EES AND OFFICER'" THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That Section 1:308 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code shall be amended by adding thereto Section E following Section D thereof to read as follows: Section E. Group Insurance. Provisions for group in- surance for the purposes authorized in Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.61, and under conditions therein set forth, may be provided for officers and employees of the City by reso- lution of the City Council. Such resolution shall provide such - terms and conditions as the City may lawfully prescribe. If any officer or employee shall be ineligible for all of the group insurance available to City employees and officers for reasons not under his control and not caused by his own default, refusal, failure or neglect, a sum equal to that payable for such group insurance on behalf of eligible employees and officers shall be paid to such employee as a part of his regular pay check in addition to other compensation which may be due to him, such payments to be made only during such period of involuntary ineligibility. The City Council may by resolution authorize the City Mayor and City Manager to negotiate, approve, execute, and renew, from time to time on behalf of the City, various group insurance contracts in the forms and for the purposes author- ized by M. S. A. Section 471.61 in the manner therein prescribed. The Council by resolution may prescribe from time to time such conditions with reference to such contracts and their availability hereunder as it may deem proper, provided, however, that no such approved contract shall exclude other of like kind from approval by the City, nor limit the right of freedom of choice by the employees and officers as to selection of any one or more of such contracts available under City approval. .11 Page 2. e The City Council may by resolution set the amount of City participation in the payment of any such premiums authorized by law. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its publication. Adopted by the City Council January 11, 1960.
