AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ST. LOUIS
PARK CODE RELATING TO POWERS AND
DUTIES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION,
SECTION 1:124, ENTITLED, "PLANNING
COMMISSION"
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section L That Section No. 1:124 of the St. Louie Park Ordinance Code
is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows:
Section 1:124 Membership and Terms The Planning Commission
shall consist of nine mesrbers, six of whom shall be appointed for terms of three
years each, and three of whom shall be ex officio members, all appointed as follows:
Two members of the City Council to be appointed by the Mayor with the
approval of the City Council for one year terms. They shall be appointed as soon
as practicable after the 1st day of January of each year to serve until the 31st day
of December of that year and until their successors shall qualify.
One member of the Board of Independent School District No. 283 of St. Louis
Park to be chosen by said Board for a one year term. Failure of the Board of said
—School -District -to -appoint a member to-serve-on-the-Planning-Commieaion shall
in no way affect the validity of the proceedings of the Planning Commission.
Six regular members of the Commission each of whom shall be appointed by
the Mayor and approved by the City Council, and their terms shall run until the
31st day of December of the year in which their terms expire, and until a successor
is appointed. In the event of a vacancy the Mayor with approval of the Council shall
appoint a. person to complete the unexpired term. A :member of the -Commission
may be removed with or without cause by the Mayor with the approval of the City
Council.
Section 1:125 Organization The Commission shall elect
ite own chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary and shall provide its own rules
and procedure, determine the date and time of meetings and call public hearings
when necessary and desirable. No member of the Commission shall pass upon
any question in which he is directly or indirectly interested.
Section 1:126 Power® and Duties The Planning Commission
shall have the following powers and duties:
(a) To prepare a Comprehensive Pian for the future development
of the City to be submitted to the City Council for implementation.

and to maintain said plan, and recommend amendment,
thereof to the City Council, as may become necessary.
To initiate, direct, and review, from time to tiirm a
study of the presvasnons of the Zoning Ordinance and the
subdivision reEttkations and to report to the City Council
its advice P,xad recommendations with respect thereto,
To study appIi.c+ations and proposals for amendments to
the Zordirag Ordaua :ce and applications for specual pei-
miita and to a,avlse the City Council of its recoxnr e.ndavtlons

To steady preliminary and final plate and to advise the

THE ST LOUIS PARK DISPATCH has had in its makeup not less than twenty-five percent
of its news columns devoted to local news of interest to said community It purports to serve, the
press work of which has been done in its said known place of publication, has contained general
news, comments and miscellany, has not duplicated any other publication, has not been entire-
ly made up of patents, plate matter and advertisements, has been circulated at and near its said
Place of publication to the extent of 240 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has been
entered as second class mail matter in local post office of its said place of publication, that there
has been on file in the office of the County Auditor of said county the affidavit of a person hav-
ing first hand knowledge of the facts constituting its qualifications as a newspaper for publication
of legal notices, and that its publishers have complied with all demands of said County Auditor
for proofs of its said qualification A copy of each issue has been filed with the State Historical
Society, St Paul.
