ORDINANCE N0. 727
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A 3OARD OF
ZONING APPEALS AND DEFINING ITS DUTIES
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The Board of Zoning Appeals is hereby established as
follows and its duties defined as follows:

Section 1.:127 Membership and Terms. The Board of Zoning Appeals
shall consist of five members who shall serve respectively for the following
terms, and until their respective successors are appointed and qualified.
Initial appointments shall be for terms as follows: one for one year, one for
two years, one for three years, one for four •years, and one f er five years,
for the first five appointed, and all subsequent appointments shall be for
terms of five years each. They shall be appointed by the Mayor with the
approval of the City Council. and their terms shall run until the 31st day of
December of the year in which their terms expire. In the event of a vacancy
the Mayor with the approval of the Council shall appoint a person to complete
the unexpired term. A member of the Commission may be removed with or
without cause by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council.

Section1:1128 Organization. The Board shall elect its own chairman,
vice-chairman, and secretary, and shall provide its own rules and procedure,
determine the date and time of meetings and call public hearings when necessary
and desirable. No member of the Board shall pass upon any question an which
he is directly or indirectly Interested.
Section 1:329. Powers and Duties The Board of Zoning Appeals
shall have the following powers and duties:
(a) To hear and recommend proper action to the City Council on appeals
from any order, requirement, permit, decision or refusal or deter-
mination made by the Zoning Administrator under the Zoning Ordinance
and from any Interpretation of the tent of the Zoning Ordinance, or
any location of the boundary of a zoning district as shown on the official
zoning map, made by the Zoning Administrator.
(b) To hear and recommend proper action to the City Council on requests
• for variances from the terms of the Zoning Ordinance In the manner
and subject to the standards set forth en the Zoning Ordinance.
(c) To hear and make recommendations to the City Council on all :natters
referred to the Board or upon which it as required to act under the
Zoning Ordinance.

of its news columns devoted to local news of interest to said community it purports to serve, the
press work of which has been done in its said known place of publication, has contained general
news, comments and miscellany, has not duplicated any other publication, has not been entire-
ly made up of patents, plate matter and advertisements, has been circulated at and near its said
place of publication to the extent of 240 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has been
entered as second class mail matter in local post office of its said place of publication. that there
has been on file in the office of the County Audltoi of said county the affidavit of a person hav-
ing first hand knowledge of the facts constituting its qualifications as a newspaper for publication
of legal notices, and that its publishers have complied with all demands of said County Auditor
for proofs of its said qualification A copy of each Issue has been filed with the State Historical,
Society, St Paul.
