ORDINANCE NO. 662
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND LICENSING CHILDREN ° S
AMUSEMENT DEVICES
The City of St. Louis Park does ordains
Section 2450 Definitions° As used herein the term "person" shall
include any person, persons, firm, partnership or corporation and the term
"amusement device" shall mean and include amusement devices designed for
and used exclusively by children such as but not limited to arq mechani—
cally or electrically operated pony, horee, boat, airplane or equipment of
similar design which may be placed on a stationary platform within any
premises to which the public is invited, and which devices are to pride
an up and doa,roeking, mcircular motion for the enjoyment of children°
Section 2:451 License Required° No person shall operate any snob
amusement device in the -City of St. Louis Park without first having obtained
a license from the City Manager authorizing him to do s
Section 22452 Application, Application for such license shall, be
made to the City Manager upon such forms aa he shall prescribe° Such
application shall contain the name of the person, if a partnership the
names of the partnere, and if a corporation the nes of the officers of
such corporation; the place at which such amn®emant device is to be
located together with the home address of all persons listed in the applio
cation and the type of amusement device to be used. Any person filing an
application shall also file with the City Clerk a liability insurance
policy or certificate of such insurance, issued by an insurance company
authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota, and approved am to
form by the City Atty. The policy shall insure the applicant and the
City as an additional insured in the sum of at least 025,000 for injury
to one person and !100,000°00 for one accident, and the policy shall be
kept in effect during the term of such license°
Section 2s453 Inspection° The City Manager shall, before issuing
such license, cause an inspection to be made of each such amusement device
to determine whether such device is so constructed mechanically and
electrically as to permit its operation safely and without danger to the
users thereof. Subsequent to the issuance of the license, the City Manager
shall cause periodic inspection to be made of all such devices and may„ if
any such device be found defective or unsafe, remoRm is license
therefor forthwith.

Section 7. Any person violating the provision of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by
a fine of not more than one hundred dollars and costs of prosecution or by
imprisonment for not to exceed 90 dgyso
Section 8o This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after
its public ion0
