(b) Permits will not be required tor repairing leaks in draw,
soil, waste and vent pipes, or for resetting fixtures or repairs to faucets,
valves or water supply pipes,

Section 5:2014 of the Code shall be amended to read as follows:
Section 5:204 Permit Fees° The fees for such permits shall
be as f ollowe s
(a) The fees for all plusbing permits shall be computed on the
basis of the number of plumbing fixtures and/or devices provided
for in such permits, whether subsequently so installed or not, and
the fee for each such fixture so provided for shall, except as herein-
after
ereafter specifically provided, be $102+00
(b) Where any ouch permit is issued for the installation of
plumbing work providing for certain proposed fixtures which are to
be installed or set later and for eahich fixture openings are to be left,
a fee of 95 cents shall be charged for each such opening, which fee &ail
be in addition to the fee °barged for other plumbing work, if any, in-
cluded in the same permit()
(c) Where any such permit is issued for the setting only of
certain plumbing fixtures on openings previously left for same, a fee
of 80 cents shall be charged for each snob fixture, which fee shall be
in addition to the fee charged for other plumbing wok, if any, in-
cluded inthe same permit,
(d) Where any such permit is issued for any of the following
specifically mentioned plumbing fixtures or other devices the fee which
shall be charged for each such fixture or device shall be as follows and

Section 5:304 of the Code shall be amended to read as follcwas
Section 50040 Permits. It shall be unlawful far any

first obtaining a permit therefor from the Building Inspector,
Such permits shall be issued by the Building Inspector only to
licensesalicensed by the City under Section 2:1001 or to persona
making application to do any such work wholly within a residence
send and occupied by the applicant to whom the permit is to be
issuedo
Section 50050 Permit Fees. The fees for such permits shall
be as follows:
(a) For installing gee pipings providing for not to end
10 gas fixtures or gas devices 1000
(b) For any such permit providing for from 11 to 25 such
fixtures or devices $2000
(c) For any sus permit providing for mere than 25 such
fixtures or devices $3000
(d) For any permit for installing gas stow, ranges, hot
plates, steam tables, dental devices, refrigerators, retorts, bale
ovens, roam heaters, barbecue grille, hair dryers or other similar

The above fees shall be in addition to the fee changed for
the permit for the installation of any gas piping for said burners

Section 5:404 of the St. L. PO Code shall be amended to read ad
follows:

GRAVITY WARM AIR HEATING SYSTEMS:
(b) Far any permit for the installation of a gravity warm air
heating system, for each such system installed thereunder, $80000
For any permit for the installation of a gravity warm air
furnace replacing an existing warm'air furnace used in connection
with a gravity warm air heating system, for each such furnace to be
installed thereunder, $4.00°
For ally permit for alterations or repairs to any existing
gravity warm air heating system or furnace in connection with any
such system, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed
Five Hundred Dollars ($500000), $4.001
And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500000), or
fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, 02000 shall
be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit°
MECHANICAL WARM .AIR HEATING SYSTEMS:
(o) For any permit for the installation of &mechanical warm
air heating system, for each such heating system to be installed
thereunder having an output or capacity not exceeding 3200000 B
per hour, $8000°
And for each additional 609000 Btu per hour output or capacity
or fraction thereof, -$10O0 shah be added to the above prescribed
fee for such permit.
For any permit for the installation of a furnace in connection
with any such heating system, for each such furnace to be installed
thereunder having an output or capacity not exceeding 120,000 Btu
per hour, $40000
And for each additional 608000 Btu per hour output or capacity
or fraction thereof, $1000 shall be added t o the above prescribed
fee for such permit°
For aay permit for alterations or repairs to any existing
mechanical warm air ?mating system in connection therewith, where
the cost of such proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Doll
(600.00), $4.00.
And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)8 or
fraction thereof, in the cost of sue: proposed work, $2000 shall be
added to the above prescribed fee far such permit.
FAN HEATING SYSTEMS:
(d) For any permit for the installation of a steam or hot
water heating system for use in connection with a f an heating system,
the required capacity of which doss not eccead 400 square feet EDR
steam or 640 square feet EDR hot water, $80000

And far each additional required 200 square feet EDR steam or 320
square feet EDR hot water, or fraction thereof Q in the required
capacity of such system or plants two dollars 2000) shall be added
to the above prescribed fee for such permits.
Foram permit for the installation of the heating coils for use
in connection with a fan heating system, supplied with steam or hot
water by an existing steam or hot water system, the required capacity

And for each additional required 200 square feet EDR steam or

For any permit for the installation of the sheet metal work and
duct works and equipment connected therewith (other than the steam or
hot water heating plant or heating coils which furnith the heat)» in

And for each additional 1,000 cubic feet per minute, or fraction

For any permit for alterations or repairs to the sheet metal
work or duct works or equipment connected therewith, of any fan
heating system, where the cost of the proposed work does not
exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500000), $400;
And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500000)0 or
fraction thessofs in the cost of such proposed works two dollars
($2000) shall be added to the above prescribed fee for ouch permit0
VENTILATING SYSTEMs
(e) _ For any permit for the installation of the duct works
sheet metalwork and equipment in connection with a ventilating
system, the required capacity of which does not exceed 28000 cubic
feet per minute, $5000;
And for each additional 1,000 cubic feet per minuute& or fraction
thereof, in such required capacit6 two dollars ($2000)
For any permit for alterations or repairs to any such ventilating
system and equipments where the cost of the proposed work dosie not
exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500000), $4000;
And for each additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500000)0 or
fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed works Two dollars
($2000) Wall be added to the above pre, ribed fee for each permit°
Am CONDITIONING SYSTEMS,
(f) For aw permit for the installation of the ductworks sheet
metalwork and equipment (other than heating or cooling coils; piping
and refrigeration equipment) in connection with an air conditioning
systems the required Capacity of which does riot exceed 20000 cubic feet
per minutes MOO;

thereof, in such required capacity Two Dollars ($2000),
For any permit for the HEATING COILS for use in connection with
an air conditioning system, supplied with steam or hot water by gen
existing steam or hot water systems the required capacity. of which does
not eyed 400 square feet EDR steam or 640 square feet EDR hot water,

And for each additional required 200 square feet EDR steam or 320

equipment designed to accomplis the required cooling in connection
with an air conditioning systema where the required capacity of the
system for which such coils, piping and equipment is installed dome
not exceed 5 tons of refrigeration, Eight Dollars ($8000),
And for each additional 24 tons in such required capacit+ys or
fraction thereof, One Dollar (1o00) shall be added to the stove
prescribed fee for such permit0
For any permit for alterations or repairs to any such heating
coils, cooling coils, piping, equipaitt0 sheet metra work or duct
work in accusation with an air conditioning system, ire the cost
of the proposed work does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars 0500.00),,

And for each additional Fiv® Hundred Dollars ($500,00), or
fraction thereof, in the coat of ouch proposed work, Two Dollars
($2000) shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permit0
STEAM OR HOT WATER HEATING SYSTEMS:
(g)• For any permit for the installation of a steam or hot
water heating ,system, or for the installation for use in connection

hot water heating plant, the required capacity of which does not
exceed 400 square feet EDR steam or 610 square feet EDI hot water, 38000;

And far each additional 18000 square feet EDR steam or 1,600
square feet EDR hot water required capacity of such boiler, Two
Dollars ($2000) shall be added to the above prescribed fee far

radiation, heating coils or other equipment of any such heating
system or plant where the cost of such proposed work does not exceed

(h) For any permit for the installation of an oil burner and /or
its equipment, for use in connection with a heating syetem, connected
to a fuel oil storage tank or tanks not buried underground or otherwise
enclosed, and having an input of not to exceed 3 gal° per hour, 04000;
For inputs from 4 gal. per hour to 9 Gal° per hour, inclusive $ 6000
For inputs from 10 Gal. per hour to 18 Gal° per hour, inclusions 9000
Four inputs from 19 Gala per hour to 36 Gal° per hour, inclusive 15.00
For inputs'fraa 37 Gal° per hour to 54 Gala per hour, inclusive 21000
For inputs from 55 Gale per hour to 75 Gal0 per hour, inclusive 28.00
For inputs Brom 76 Gal° per hour to 93 Gal° per hour, inoluaive 34000

Where fuel oil storage tanks are buried underground or other—
wise enclosed the sum of $4000 shall be added to the above
prescribed fees°
' For any permit for the installation of a fuel oil atoraga tank
or tanks only, for use in connection with an oil burner, not under—
ground or otherwise enclosed, $20000
For any permit for the installation of a fuel oil storage tank
or tanks for use in connection with an oil burner installation,
where such tanks are buried underground• or otherwise enclosed, $40000
For any permit for alterations or repairs to any existing oil
burner or oil burner equipment where the cost of such proposed work
does not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500000), $4°00;
And for each additional five hundred dollars ($500000), or
fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed work, $2000 shall be
added to the above prescribed fee far such permit°
STOKERS AND POWDERED FUEL BURNERS:
(i) For any permit for the installation of a stoker or stokers,
for each stoker included in such permit, where the grate area of the
furnace or boiler such etober is required to serve does not exceed
fourteen (1s) square feet, $4000;
And for each additional square foam in the gate aaia ,ef
the flame or boiler to be served by such stoker, Thirty semi (30¢)
shall be added to the above prescribed fee for such permits

NOTE: A11 of the stoker inside the boiler or furnace walla
shall be construed as grate surface, including dead plates and
side dumped
For any permitter er the installation ation of apdwdered fuel burner
ear burners, for each such burner included in such permits where the
capacity of such burner does not exceed Three Hundred and Fifty
(350) pounds- Per hour, $4000;
And for each additional Twenty-five (25) pounds, or fraction
thereof, in the capacity of such burner, Thirty cents (30¢) shall be
added to the above prescribed fee for such permit.
For any permit for alterations or repairs to any stoker or
stokers, or to any powdered fuel burner or burners, or to the equip=
meat thereof, where the cost of the proposed work does not exceed
Five Hundred Dollars 0500,00), $4.00;
And far each additional Five Hutted Dollars ($500.00)-2 or
fraction thereof, in the cost of such proposed wank, $2000 shall
be added to the above prescribed fee far such permit.
(ELECTRICAL)
Section 5:503 shall be amended to read as follows:
Section 515030 Permits° (a) It shall be unlawful for any
person to do any work asTENO in Section 51501 of this
without first obtaining a, permit from the Building Inspector;
such permits shall be issued by the Building Inspector only to
perces ltoenned racier rection 2:610 of this code, or to
persons making application to do any such work whollywithin a resim
dente,cleaed and occupied by the applicant to whom the permit is to
be issued.
(b) Permits shall not be required for installation of wires to
operate electric bells, gas lighting apparatus, house -annunciators,
burglar alarms, telephone, telegraph, messenger, watch clock, fire
alarm ar similar instruments, except that such permit shall be
obtained when required by the Building Inspector.
Section $':504 of the Code obeli be amended to read as follows:
Section 5:5040 Permit Fees. The fees for such permits than.
be as follows:
OUTLETS:
(a) For each permit for new or additional electric light
wiring, for the first ten (10) lighting outlets, or for any fraction
thereof, if less than ten (10), there shall be a minimum fee of $2020;
And far each ten (10) such cutlets, or fraction thereof, in
excess of the first ten (10), there ehal11 be an additional fee of $1020.
Lighting outlets shall be construed to mean any outlets installed
for lighting fixtures, wall receptacles ar floor reeeptonla n where
such reaptasies are permitted on branch lighting circuits. Every
=eh receptacle shall, be considered a separate outist° The outlet
fee shall cover the installation of the wall receptacles or floor
receptacles. 9.
Provided, further, that lighting outlets shall also be construed
to mean any outlets installed for Mature connection for lighting purposes.
For the pgnpeees of this ordinate, each group of lights for
window illumination rigidly attached to one another and cads up and
installed ae one unit and said i it is ted from all grounded metal
work in the manner provided by ordinance for fixtures, shall be con,.
sidered as one (1) outlet only, when estimating the fee for aing
permit, and as fixture only When estimating the fee for a fixture permit.
SIGN CIRCUIT:
(b) For each permit for wiring for and/or connecting an electrics
sign, for the first branch circuit required for such sign, $1.50.
And for each additional branch circuit required for such alga, 50
cents.
HEATING DEVICES-U0TQRScRANSFORMERS, Etc.:
(c) For each pert for wiring for, installing and connecting
electric motors, or other apparatus: rated in horsepower (H0P0) there
shall ba a minium fee for the first ore (1) H.PO, or fraction thereof,
Of $20000
And for each additional horse=power (H.P.) or fraction thereof,
in excess of one (1) H.P., but not exceeding two hundred (200) H.P.D
15 cents.
And for each ten (10) horse -power„ or fraction thereof, in excess
of two hundred (200) HOP., 15 centa0
For each permit for wiring for, installing affil connecting trans-
formers for lighting or heat or power, generators, heating devices,
rectifiers ar other apparatus rated biretta, there shall be a minimum fee
of 02000 for the first one (1) Kilo -volt-ampere (K.V.A0) capacity or
fraction thereof, except for replacement of an electric range for
domestic use, the fee shall be 020000
For each Kilo -volt-ampere capacity, or fraction thereof, in
excess -of one (1), but not exceeding two hundred (200) K.V.AO, there
shall be en additional fee of 15 cents.
And for each ten Kilo volt-amperes capacity, or fraction
thereof, in excess of two hundred (200) K.V.AoD there shall be an
additional fee of 15 cents.
In determining the amulet of the fees in this snbdiviaion (0)
the units in each clans of the apparatus enumerated in this subdiv-
ision shall be figured collectively but each class shall be figured
independently of the other class, and gernaratara shall be rated
according to the rate hosse4power of the motor only.
SOCKETS:
-.(d) For each permit for the installation of lamp snckets cr
lamp receptacles for use on lighting fixtures and drop cards or
attached directly to the out, the minimum fee shall be $1.10 for
the first ten (10) sockets or receptacles, or for any fraction
thereof, if less than ten (10).

And for each ten (10) such eoekoete or receptacles, or fraction
thereof, in excess of the first the (10), there shall be an additional
fee of 85 cents°
SOCKETS -BORDER, STRIP, OUTLINE, ETC.:
(e) For each permit for the wiring of each complete outline
lighting (other than luminous tube lighting), marquee, stage border,
stage_footligbt group, stage proscenium strip, or temporary lighting
when permitted, the fee shall be $1010 far the first ten (10) sockets,
or receptacles, or for any fraction thereof, if less than ten (10),
including the installation of such sockets, or receptacles;
And for the next twenty (20) sockets, or fraction thereof, 85 cents;
Aid far the next thirty (30) sockets, or fraction thereof, 85 cents;
And far any fifty (50) sockets, or fraction thereof, in excess of
the first sixty (60) such sockets, or receptacles, 85 cents.
Outline lighting shall be oonetured to mean that class of lighting
used on the outside of buildings to mark the outlines thereof by the
use of incandescent luso
LUMINOUS TUBES:
(f) For each permit for wiring for and/or installing outline,
decorative, display or other lighting employing lumincua tubes •
energised by transformers, for the first five hundred (500) volt-
amperes, or fraction thereof, $2025;
And for each additional one hundred (100) volt-amperes, over the
first 500, 15 cents°
This volt ere rating shall be based on printery current and
voltage°
SIGN AND BILLBOARD WIRING:
(g) For each permit for the wiring of each electric sign for
outdoor ase or of each billboard, employing incandescent lamps for
illumination, or lumminone tubes energised by transformers, for the
first five hundred (500) volt-amperes, or fraction thereof, in the
capacity of such sign or billboard, $2025;
And for each additional one hundred (100) volt-amperes, or
fraction thereof, 15 Dents°
The words "wiring. of," as used in this subdivision, shall. be
construed to include all electrical fittings and devices in or
attached to the exterior of any such sign or billboard, but not
including any supply wires thereto°

ALTERATIONS AND REPAIRS:
(h) The fee for each permit for the alterations, rearrangement
or repairing of existing electrical equipments or for other electrical
work not included in the above:, shall be $2025,for the first One
