ST. LOUIS PARK CITY COUNCIL
Monday, July 10, 1995
1 Call to order
Mayor Hanks called the meeting to order at 7 00 p m
Present were Councilmembers JeffJacobs, George Haun, Ron Latz, Robert Young, Gail Dorfman
and Mayor Hanks
Also present were the City Manager (Mr Meyer), Director of Community Development (Mr
Harmening), Planning Coordinator(Ms Jeremiah) and Personnel Officer(Mr Wysopal)
1 New Zoning District Standards
Mr Harmening and Ms. Jeremiah discussed the staff report on new zoning district standards
Mr Harmening introduced two alternatives for zoning on the Honeywell property including M-X
and C-2 with Planned Unit Development (PUD)
Councilmember Latz commented that a 20% limit on outdoor sales seemed excessively low
Mayor Hanks expressed his concern with item 9 under the proposed C-2 relating to (Conditions
1-8 cannot be reduced or eliminated by utilizing the flexibility provisions of the PUD )
It was Council consensus to continue to develop mixed use zoning on a"considered basis" and to
focus on C-2 with PUD short-term
2 Compensation Plan
Mr Wysopal discussed the compensation report He reviewed the Stanton benchmarking plan and
pay equity point plan
Councilmembers expressed concern with all department heads being at same pay equity point
level, grade inflation and built-in costs with this proposed plan
3 Miscellaneous
Mr Meyer reported on the Meadowbrook Apartments inspection
Mayor Hanks reported on the Hennepin County Community Works Empowerment zones and that
he will be in attendance at the upcoming meeting
