MINUTES
PUBLIC HEARING ON REVENUE SHARING
October 1, 1984
1. Call to Order
The public hearing on the City's use of General Revenue Sharing funds
for 1984-1985, as described in the notice of public hearing published
September 17, 1984 was called to order by Mayor Lyle Hanks at 7:15
p.m.
2. Roll Call
The following members of the City Council were present at roll call:
Ronald Backes Keith Meland
Thomas Duffy Larry Mitchell
Jerrold Martin Richard Strohl
Lyle Hanks
3. Public Comment
The Mayor opened the public hearing and asked the City Manager to
explain how revenue sharing would be used in the 1984 and 1985 budgets.
The City Manager explained that the City's practice of using revenue
sharing for items other than normal recurring operating expenses was
being followed in the 1984 and 1985 budgets. He said that the City
estimates receipt of $237,984 in 1984 and $228,000 in 1985. Programmed
expenditures for 1985 include acquisition of a new telephone system,
purchase of a crane, park acquisition and development and Dutch elm
disease control.
There being no one present wishing to speak and no written statements
received, the public hearing was closed.
It was moved by Councilman Meland, seconded by Councilman Martin,
to adopt the 1984 and 1985 revenue sharing budgets as proposed.
The motion passed unanimously.
