Call to Order President Pro Tem Lyle Hanks called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. 2. Roll Call . The following Council members were present at roll call : Ronald Backes Jerrold Martin Lyle Hanks Keith Meland Also present were the Acting City Manager, Director of Finance/City Clerk and Director of Public Works. 3. Resolution No. 7308: Increasing It was moved by Councilman Meland, sec- designated maximum amount to be onded by Councilman Backes , to waive kept in depository reading and adopt Resolution No. 7308 entitled, "Resolution Increasing Des- ignated Maximum Amount to be Kept in Depository. " The motion passed 4-0. 4. Resolution No. 7309: Approving It was moved by Councilman Martin, sec- securities for collateral for onded by Councilman Backes , to waive reading Park National Bank and adopt Resolution No. 7309 entitled, "Resolution Approving Securities for Collateral from Park National Bank, St. Louis Park, MN. " The motion passed 4-0. 5. Verified Claims It was moved by Councilman Backes , seconded by Councilman Martin, that the list of verified claims prepared by the Director of Finance and directed to the City Council dated December 30, 1982 in the amount of $303,978.73 for vendor claims payable in 1982 and $144,697.29 for vendor claims payable in 1983 (including $5,850.00 for clothing allowance for City fire- fighters and $7,265.75 for overtime and temporary salaries) be approved and that the City Manager and City Treasurer be directed to issue checks in those amounts. The motion passed 4-0 on a roll call vote. 6. Snowplowing operations The Director of Public Works related the City's snowplowing efforts following the December 27-28 blizzard. On December 28, maintenance forces worked from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m. to open main roads and provide one lane on residential streets. On December 29, crews plowed from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. and opened about 90% of the City' s streets to two lanes of traffic. Snowplowing operations were to last from 4 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to finish opening streets and to concentrate on areas which were difficult. Snow removal efforts were hampered by cars parked in the streets and extensive equipment breakdowns. President Pro Tem Hanks requested that a bulletin be placed on cable television to encourage residents to clear snow from fire hydrants. 7. Communications from the President Pro Tem President Pro Tem Hanks reminded Council members of the special meeting which was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. , January 3, 1983. 8. Adjournment It was moved by Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilman Meland, to adjourn the meeting at 12:19 p.m. The motion passed 4-0.
