She said she called in the City Engineer who said she would have to pay to have the curb and gutter torn out. She said she�autharized him to go ahead and�tear out the new curbing and reqlace it so there v��ould be parallel parking in front of her business. She was now protesting an additional assessment of $1985.26. PETITIONS, REQUESTS, COP1h1U���ICATIONS �a, CE�risty's Service _ Station Request of Bruce Johnson to waive ord- inance requirements in re Christy's Service Station at Wooddale and Lake Streets. � Brian Ellesvold of the �linnesota Service Station Association said he was sr�eaki ng on behal f of Mr. Johnson's request. He sai d r1r. Johnson had � invested a substantial amount of money in order to open his business at this location. Noting that the location has been an eyesore in the � nast, I�e described P1r. Johnson's efforts to date to improve the condition of ti�e site. He asl�.ed that Council permit the request to waive the ordinance requirements. Councilman Hanks asked when Mr. Johnson exnected to bring the site into f�all compliance with City requlations. '1r. Ellesvold replied he viould do so vrhenever Council so directed.
