Council recommended the followinq �hanges ba$ed on the�r discussions; Leqal - The Ci t� P�tar�ager reported that the Ci �y Prosecutor's fee in 1975-75 was 3�/hour and in 1980 it was a� �43/hour, Ne also Said the City Counselor was rec�uestir�g an ad�ustment in the reta�ner of $�100/r�onth for 1982, raising the total re�ainer to $4700/month. It was moved by Councilman Nanks, seconded bv Councilman �Backes, to raise the retai ner fee to �4500/r�ronth for the Ci ty� Counsel or. The motion passed 6-0-1 (��ayor ��cQuaid abstained). It �vas r�oved by Councilman Hanks, seconded by Councilman f4eland, to lncrease the retainer fee of the City Prosecutor fror� $48/hour �o S51�hour• The motion failed, 2-5 (Councilmen �lartin, Backes, Ralles, Elstrom a�d f9ayor NcQuaid opposed), It was moved by Counci �man Ral les, seconded b Counci lr�an Qackes, the retainer fee of the City Prosecutor from $48/hour to �50/hour. It was moved by Councilr�an Martin, seconded by Councilman�6ackes, to a1locate �1000 to �he STEP program in 1982. The motion passed 7-0. It was moved by.Councilman Hanks, seconded by �Councilman r�artin, that City staff send a letter to the HELP LINE notifyinq its representatives that the City may not be contributing funds in 1982 and that the HELP LINE should explore the possibility of combining its program with STEP. , The motion passed 7-0.
