President Pro Tem Hanks said he had requested the City Planner to make a
brief synopsis of the report but that discussion on it would not be held
that evening. Discussion will be at the next Council stud,v session.

The City Planner said the report essentially was dividecl into two parts:
one concerning Nighway 100 to I-94 v�ith a recomriendation fo r no additional
interchanges west of Penn and the other pa rt dealinc� with desicln alter-
natives. He said the essence of tfie report was the two recor�mendations
to Comr�issioner of Transportation Braun of the Metropolitan Council as
contained on page 36 of the report. He discussed briefly the formula
of 1.77 persons per auto whi ch was used i n the devel opment of the nurr�er of NQ'�
lanes and suggested that Council might want to look rnore closely at
that formula. .
