Councilman Thiel commented on the various types of transit available

In. response to a question from the City Manager , Chairman Glotter reva. ewed the
various meetings during which representatives of the adjacent neighboring

Elderly Housing Proposal : The Executive Director discussed the Dominium Proposal
and noted that some modifications in. the plans were required . He stated that the

Updating Cost of Assessment of Paving , Curb and Gutter : It was moved by Councilman
Griak , � seconded by Councilman. Meland , that any paving , curb and gutter improvement
projects for which the public hearing is held after November 1 , 1974 , be assessed
at the rate of $ 10 per front foot .
Councilman Thiel stated that he is in favor of raising the front foot assessment
rate more in line with actual construction costs and thinks the Council may
wish to consider raising it higher than $ 10 . In response to a uest ' on from

Street , although it will not be constructed until next year , has already had
Che public hearing and will be assessed at the 1974 rate of $ 9 per front foot .
The City Manager noted that the public hearings for the Ethel Baston Westdale
and possibly South Oak Hill paving projects are anticipated to be held late
this year and early in 1975 . Councilman. Thiel indicated that the motion should
read that the assessment rate could go up to $ 11 after the 1975 construction
season . The motion passed, " 7 - 0 .
.,Legal Matter / Miracle Mile Liquor Violation - The City Counselor and Prosecuting
Attorney discussed with the Council a liquor violation involving Harold Aretz '
interest in more than one liquor license and outlined the various options
available to the City Council . The matter was deferred for further consideration
until November 18 , 1974 .
Interviews of Louisiana Avenue / Highway 7 Consultant - Mayor Fleetham noted that
two councilmen cannot be present for the interviews scheduled for November 16 ,
1974 with the consulting firms on Louisiana Avenue / Highway 7 . It was moved
by Councilman Hanks to accept staff ' s recommendation and approve Bather - Ringrose -
Wolsfeld as the consultant for this project . The motion failed for lack of a
second .
