LOUIS PARK, MINNESOTA May 8, 1972 special meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor s A p at 8:06 p.m. The following Councilmen were present at roll call: Frank Fleetham Rose-lviary Griak Lyle Hanks James Heltzer Leonard Thiel Frank Pucci Pucci Also present were the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, City Attorney, Assistant to the City Manager, Dr. Ramsey of School District #283, and Secretary. Councilman Graves arrived at 8:25 p.m. Improvement No. 71-03(b) - Sidewalk construction, north side of Minnetonka Boulevard from Texas Avenue to Virginia Avenue: Councilman Thiel explainer that he had been contacted by the property owner, Mr. Adolph Fine, who had requested that the public hearing scheduled for May 159 1972 be continued to May 30, 1972 because Mr. Jeff Fine who was representing him would be out of town on May 15. Councilman Thiel moved that this hearing be continued at that time. Councilman Heltzer seconded and the motion carried 6 - U. (Councilman Graves was not present). Discussion of CATV Ordinance: Council discussed in detail the comments received from companies interested in the CATV franchise. Concern was expressed reg-zrding the need for dual cable installation, computerization, and conformity with FCC regulations. Concern was also expressed about there being no provision for pay TV. It was agreed that staff would redraft the ordinance with changes as suggested. It was moved by Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Councilman Graves, to set for public hearing June 19, 1972. The motion carried unanimously• Councilman Thiel suggested that staff communicate with the seven interested companies, advising them of the time table and if the CityIs holding of their application fee becomes too much of a burden refunds would be made uP°n withdrawal of an application. City Newsletter: It was moved by Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Councilman Griak, to designate Minda Public Relations to publish the City newsletter. The motion carried 7 - 0. 110 Council Minutes, May 8, 1972 Lighting on Louisiana Avenue (Oxford to Excelsior Boulevard): Council agreed to have specifications include lighting standards to be the Same as those installed on Aquila Avenue. Voters Registration; It was moved by Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Councilman Graves, to permit Hopkins School District to use voters registration system. The motion carried unanimously.
