A p y Council and Golden Valley
Village Council was held at the request of the Mayor of Golden Valley , Mr .
Cliff Teres. , to discuss the request for Special Permit of Richard Neslund
to build a 280 - unit development on property located north of Cedar Lake
Road , east of Natchez Avenue and west of the Jewish Community Center ,
All St. Louis Park Councilmen and the Mayor were present with Golden
Valley represented by its ho ayor , throe Col: ' _ ' meas and their City .Manager .
The City Manager , Assistant City Manager .. City Attorney , Planning
Director , and Planning Commission Chairman of St . Louis Park were also
present.

The Mayor of Golden Valley spoke briefly about his constituents ' concerns
about this development and urged the St . Louis Park Council to defer issuance
of the Special Permit until such time as Gorden Valley could study potential
traffic problems in the area , although he indicated they were not opposed to
the development as planned .
The Planning Commission Chairman , Mrs . A , Ingersoll , explained the
history of this area and reviewed the Comprehensive Plan and the various
studies and meetings held pertaining to this project . She indicated that at
the most recent special meeting of the Planning Corzi
unssion they had two
questions under discussion on referral from the Council . She explained
i that they were asked to work out a plan with no access to Natchez Avenue
and to review the Comprehensive Plan and discuss this use as open space .
