JOINT HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION / CIT Y COUNCIL MEETING
ST . LOUIS PARK , IViINNES OTA
May 25 , 1970
A special meeting of the City Council and Human Rights Commission was
called to order by Mayor Frank Howard at 7 : 25 p . m .
The following Councilmen were present :
Frank Fleetham James Heltzer
Murray Galinson Robert Reynolds
Richard Graves Leonard Thiel
Frank Howard
The following Human Rights Commission members were present :
Dollie Brandwein Rosalie Goldstein
Charles Chatman Alice Olsen
Duane Boelter James Samples
Sy Friedman Jane Tschida
Lou Schoen
Also present were the City 1Vianager , Assistant City Manager , and Acting
Secretary .
1 . Human Rights Consultants : The City Manager reported that the
staff was investigating the availability of Human Rights Consulting
Firms and that several had been contacted regarding the submission
of proposals for consideration. Mr . Schoen suggested that the New
York firm of Tillman and Associates be contacted to determine their
interest and Mr . Wright proposed the name of Reverend David
Brown for consideration .
A discussion followed on the advantages and potentials presented by
retaining the services of a professional consultant for improving
human relations .
