On motion by Councilman Heltzer , sec- onded by Councilman Howard , it was
moved that Mayor Thiel attend the me, - : ` i,ng to support in principle the idea
of an increased sales tax , if there is a serious need for a tax increase , rather
than continue along the property tax route . It was generally agreed that the
City should obtain more information on this subject ,
The Mayor advised the Council that the Chamber of Commerce Board of
Directors would like to have a meeting with the City Council to discuss taxes
and meeting but would request that the State Legislators be present . Coun related subjects ,, Councilman Reynolds agreed that he would favor such an

ratio of home ; business and industrial taxes assessment ratios in other
communities and the breakdown on the cities tax increase , new constructioD
