A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor
Kenneth V4� olfe at 8: 05 p. m.
2. INVOCATION
Invocation was given by Councilman Frank Tioward.

4. MiNUTES
On motion of Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman Reynolds,
the minutes of the regular meeting held July 18, 1966 were approved
by a five yea vote.

Harry Hallstein, 3982 Brunswick Avenue, presented a petition
signed by residents of the area against the use of Bob� s
Sunnyside Station for impounding vehicles. A motion was
made by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Heltzer,
to designate Nutter's Shell as the lowest responsible bidder, to
accept bid in the amount of $4, 400. 00, and to authorize the Mayor
and City Manager to execute the necessary contract. Motion
passed by a vote of five }reas and one nay, Councilman Howard
voting nay.

Stanley �Irozek, 4245 Vernon Avenue, presented a petition
requesting 43 i Street and Morningside Road be opened so that
a right turn can be made on to Highway No. 100, hi. A. Dailey,
4329 Vernon Avenue was also present in favor of the opening.

be held. Motion passed by a five yea vote. Councilman Thiel

(d) CITIZ�NS ST. LOUiS PARK BEAUTIFUL COMMITTEE.
Mayor tiVolfe suggested a beautification committee could be of
value to the City. A motion was made by Councilman Pearson,
seconded by Councilman Heltzer, to consent and approve the
appointment of such a committee. Motion pas s ed by a five yea
vote. Councilman Thiel was not present. �
Mayor Wolfe appointed the following citizens to the St. Louis
Park Beautiful Committee: John Billman, Kenneth Born, Thomas
Choinski, A. C. Eurist, Mrs. IvI. D. Himmelman, Mis s Dorothea
Nelson, Gordon Newton, Mrs. Robert Reitow, Mrs. George
Rockwood, and Arnold Savitt.
(e) PROPOSED 1967 BUDGET B Y THE CITY MANAGER.
It was moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman
Reynolds, to defer the budget to August I5, 1966. Motion passed
by a five yea vote. Councilman Thiel was not present.
