MINUTES
On motion of Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Koch, the
minutes of the regular meeting held June 6, 1966 were approved by a eix
yea vote. Councilman Heltzer was not present.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Sallo, 3516 Rhode Island Avenue,were
present in opposition to the proposed improvement and presented
a petition against the project.
Mr. Earl Backken, 3507 Sumter Avenue,and Norbert Behringer,
3526 Rhode Island, were in favor of the project. Mayor Wolfe
declared the hearing closed.

It was moved by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman
' Koch, to waive reading and adopt Resolution No. 3072 entitled

Mrs. Monroe Isenberg, 4311 W est 25th Street, was present in
opposition to the project, stating it served few people. A motion
was made by Councilman Koch, seconded by Councilman Thiel,
to adjourn the hearing to Ju1y 5, 1966. Motion passed by a six
yea vote. Councilman Heltzer was not present.

representing the F�rn Hill and Lake Forest Associations to pre-
sent their ob,jections to the rezoning and also present a petition
against the requesto Zollie Barre�ts, 4321 West 2lst Street,
Wilma Smith Leland, Z823 France Avenue, and Sheldon Pink,
27Z1 Glenhurst Avenue, were also present in opposition. Herbert
Davis represented the applicant.
It was moved by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Counciln�an
Pearson, that the request for rezoning be denied. Motion lost
by a roll ca11 vote of four nays and three yeas. Councilmen
Heltzer, Howard, Koch, and 1�Zeynolds, voted nay.
It was moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman
Pearson, that the zoning of the entire area be referred to Plan-
ning Commission for examination of B-1 a.nd B-2 uses for poasi-
bility of changes. After discussion the motion was withdrawn by
Councilman Howard. After further discussion a motion was made
by Councilman Koch, seconded by Councilman Heltzer, to �econ►-
sider the original motion to deny the request to rezone. Ivlotion

was moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Koch,

(a) TABULATION OF BIDS FOR FIRE PUMPER.
A motion was made by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman

A motion was made by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Council-
man Thiel, to file claims with the City Clerk for proper action by
the City Manager and City Attorney� Motion passed by a seven
yea vote.

(a) VERIFIED CLAIMS.
Qn motion of Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman
Reynolds, the lists of verified claims prepared by the Director
of Finance and presented to the Council dated June 20, 1966 in
the total amounts of $3, 013. ?8 for payroll, and $48, 532.43 for
vendors were approved, and the City Manager, City Clerk, and
City Treasurer were authorized to issue checks covering sam�
by a seven yea vote.
