A regular meeting of the City Gouncil was called to order by Mayor
Kenneth Wolfe at 8:05 p. m.

PETITIONS, REQUESTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
(a) PETITION OF PROPERTY OWNERS IN AREA OF WEST 36TH
STREET AND KIPLING AVENUE CONCERNING ENLARGEMENT
"`�' OF PANCAKE HOUSE PARKING LOT.
Mr. Bruce James, attorney, 1? 1Z First National Bank Building, was
present on behalf of residents of the area. The City Planning Director
pointed out proposed plans for enlarging the parking lot at Perkins
Pancake Hause and explained the special permit had been approved
by the Council and the applicant had complied with ordinance regula~
tions. A rriotion was made by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Coun��_
man Howard, to table the matter. Motion passed by a seven yea vote.

A motion was made by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Council-
man Thiel, to authorize employing of George F. Hess, Consulting
Engineer, 451? Ninnetonka Boulevard, for accounting services in
connection with �-iennepin County General Hospital Budget Appeals,
such authorization not to exceed $500. 00 without notice to Council.

It was moved by Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Councilman
Reynolds, that staff report June 6, 1966 concerning feasibility
of a permanent street in the same area as described above for
sidewalk and curb and gutter. Motion passed by a seven yea vote.

It was moved by Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Gouncilman
Koch, to designate Bob's Sunnyside Service as the lowest re-
sponsible bidder, io accept bid in the amount of $4, 450. 00, and
to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute the necessary
contract. Before a vote was taken the motion was withdrawn.

A motion was made by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Council-

M. & C. No. 66-21, and authorize the Mayor and City Manager

It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman
Thiel, that staff report on feasibility of improvement of Franklin
Avenue between Westwood Hills Drive and Westmoreland Lane,
Motion passed by a seven yea vote.
