Lutheran Church. Councilman Howard arrived at 9:40 p. m. MINUTES On motion of Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Thiel, the minutes of the regular meeting held January 10, 1966 were approved by a six yea vote. PUBLIC HEARINGS (aj IMPROVEivIENT NO. 64-22, PROPOSED GRADING ON OXFORD STREET FROM 36Th STREET TO FRANCE AVENUE (EAST INDUS- TRIAL ROAD), HEARINC ADJOURNED FROM NO�TEMBER 15, 1965. The City Manager explained that the project had been revised to include only the western portion running from 36th Street to l, 285 feet northeast (east line of SW 1%4 of Section 6, Township 28, Range 24j. It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Thiel, to waive first reading of the proposed ordinance and to set date for second reading on January 31, 1966. John McDonald was present representing Union 224, and Larkin McClellan was present representing Union 49. A motion was made by Councilman Koch, seconded by Councilman Reynolds, that staff prepare a resolution changing Pump Station Mechanic from PW 11 to PW 12 and to prepare an ordinance transferring funds. Motion passed by a vote of four years and two nays. It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Thiel� that staff prepare the necessary ordinance transfe.rring funds'to reclass- ify two laborer posiiions to Park Maintenanceman I in accordance with the City Manager's recommendation. It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Thiel, to designate Texaco, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for gasoline, to accept bid in the amount of $16, 940. 00, and to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute the necessary contract. Motion passed by a seven yea vote. It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Thiel, to designate Sinclair Refining Co. as the lowest reaponsible bidder for diesel fuel, to accept t�id in the amount of $?35. 00� and to authorize the Mayor and City Mana.ger to execute the necessary contract. A motion was made by Councilrnan Reynolds, seconded by Council- man Heltzer, to reconsidzr the iron removal treatment system at Council meeting February 7, 1966, and staff submit a report on the water mains that have been looped and a history of complaints on rusty water since the last report, Motion passed by a seven yea vote. (c) BASSETT CREEK W.A.TERSHED DISTRICT. Mayor Wolfe reported there will be a hearing on establishing a watershed district including the area of Bassett Creek on January 25, 1966 and suggested St. Louis Park should be represented. Councilmen Pearson and Heltzer volunteered to attend. 12. CLA.IMS, APPROPi�IATIONS AND CONTRACT DAYMENTS (a) VERIFI� D C LAIMS. Url motion of Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Heltzer, the lists of verified claims prepared by the Director of Finance and presented to the Council dated January 17, 1966 in the total amount of $451, 797. 46 for vendors were approved, and the City Manager, City Clerk, and City Treasurer were authorized to issue checks covering same by a seven yea vote.
