Septembe r 8, 1965
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Kenneth Wolfe at ?:05 p, m, to review
the annual budget for 1966.
The following Councilmen were present:
James Heltzer
�rank Howard
Curtis Pearson
Robert Reynolds
Leonard Thiel
Kenneth Wolfe
Also present were the City Manager, Director of Finance, Assistant to
the Director of Finance, Assistants to the City Manager, and the Secretary.
Councilman Ehrenberg arrived at ?:52 p. m.
It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Howard that
item 23A, Travel-conferences-schools under Mayor and Council activities,
be reduced from $1, ?00 to $1, 000. Motion lost.
It was rnoved by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman Heltzer, that
item 23A, Travel-conferences-schools under Mayor and Council activities,
be reduced from $1, 700 to $1, 200. Motion passed by a six yea vote.
A motion was made by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman
Reynolds, that under item 10, Personal Services of Police Protection activ-
ities that the cadet classification be reduced from two to one cadet. Motion
was amended to de�ete both cadets. Motion pas sed by a five yea vote.
Councilmen Reynolds and Howard voted nay.
It was moved by Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Councilman Reynolds,
that under item 53, machinery and automotive equipment of Fire Protec-
tion activities, the fire truck pumper be removec� from the budget and four
fire fighters be added under item 10, Personal Services. Motion lost.
It was moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilrnan Thiel, that
under item 52, Furniture and Equipment for Protective Inspection be
reduced from $600 to $400. Motion passed by a roll ca�l vote of four yeas
and three nays. Councilmen Pearson, Howard, Thiel and Wolfe voted yea.

It was moved b�r Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman �-Ieltzer, that
under item 53, capital outlay for street maintenance, one new dump truck
be eliminated, one-half of the oil distributor and truck be paid for in 1966,
one half of the street sweeper be paid for in 1966, and one�alf of the self
Ioader unit be paid for in 1966. Motion lost.
RESQLUTION NO. 2886
It was moved by Councilrnan Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Heltzer,
t.A waive reading and adopt Resolution No. 2886 entitled "Resolution Accepting
Bid for Storm Sewer Improvement No. 65-21. " Motion passed by a seven yea
vote.
On rxlotion of Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Thiel, the meet-
ing was adjourned at 11:15 p. m. until September 13, 1965 at 4:30 p. m. , by a
seven yea vote.
