1. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor
Kenneth Wolfe at 8:05 p. m.

On motion of Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Howard,
the minutes of the regular meeting held April lq, 1965 were approved

behalf of Thomas Investment Company and Brookeide Builder8,
with the request that the Council consider allowing credit to
them for payment for installation of pipe laid to their property
on County Road 16. Mayor Wolfe declared the hearing cloaed.

A motion was made by Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Council-
man Thiel, to waive reading and adopt Reaolution No. 2795 enti-

ADJUSTMENT QF ASSESSMENT FOR PARKING LOT.
Arthur Bueh, 6812 West Lake Street, was present, concerning
the as se s sment levied agains t Premie r Plastic e for a parking
lot at West Lake Street and Walker. The benefits from the park-
ing lot were explained to Mr. Bush and it wae suggested that he
contact the .A.ssessor for any additional information.
It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman
Thiel, to table the communication. Motion passed by a seven
yea, vote.

It was moved by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Council-
man Heltzer, to waive reading and adopt Resolution No. Z806
entitled "Resolution Receivin� Reports and Calling Hearing on
Improvement No. 65-36. " Motion passed by a seven yea vote.
Hearing will be held May 17, 19 65.
Councilman Pearson suggested that old policy statemen�con-
cerning street improvements be brought up to date and presented
at the next Council meeting.
(e) CITY ATTORNEY REPORT NO. 9 COVERING STATE LEGIS- '

Upon hearing no objection Mayor Wolfe ordered the report

ING CHANGE IN BUS SCHEI3ULES FOR ST. LOUIS PARK (DE-
FERRED FR�M APRIL 19, 1965).

9. (a) It wae moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Council-
man Pearson, to approve the proposed plan submitted by Twin
City Lines, Inc. , as amended. Motion passed b}� a u.nanimoue
vote. The change invoives only the West 33rd Street loop whereby
the public will be served by buses during peak morning hours going
into Minneapolis and by buses from Minneapolis during peak after-
noon hour s .
Councilman Thiel stated that the bus company has agreed to
investigate the poBsibility of a north-south loop which should
be available in the near future. Lyn Gerber from Twin City
Lines, Inc. also agreed that the study would be made.
(b) TRUNK HIGHWAY 169 SOUT�-iWEST DIA.GONAL (DEFERREI?
FROM APRIL 19, 19b5).
A motion was made by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Council-
man Pearson, that the Council request the State Highway Depart-
ment to prepare preliminary plans for proposed routing of
Highway 169 on Highway 100 and along Cedar Lake Road to
Minneapolis, and request they also bring in plans for Highway ?.
Motion passed by a seven yea vote.
Councilman Thiel suggested a committee be appointed to meet
with Commissioner of Highways Jamieson to discuss various
plans for St. Louis Park. Mayor V�olfe appointed the City
Manage r and membe r s of the Council Highway Committee to
meet with Mr. Jar�zieson.
Councilman Thiel suggested a committee might meet with
Hennepin County Commissioners Janes and A.insworth to discuss
the entrance to Methodist Hospital on Excelsior Boulevard.
Mayor Wolfe appointed the Council Highway Committee a.nd the
City Manager to meet with the commissioners.
10. NEW BUSINESS
(a) COUNCIL MEETING MAY 12, 1965.
A. motion was made by Councilman Howard, seconded by Council-
man Thiel, that no Council meeting be held May 12, 1965. Motion
pas sed by a seven yea vote.

(aj VERIFIED CLAIMS.
Qn motion of Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman
Heltzer, the lists of verified claims prepared by the Director
of Finar�ce and presented to the Council dated May 3, 1965
in the total amounts of $3, 611. 29 for payroll, and $81, 071. ?2
for vendors were approved, and the City Manager, City Clerk,
and City Treasurer were authorized to issue checks covering
same by a seven yea vote.

1. Partial Payment No. 1 for pump and pump house No. 14,
Improvement No. b5-27. Contractor, Keys Well Drilling
Company. Amount, $2, 0? 0. 00.
2. Partial Payment No. 4 for purnp and pump house No. 13,
Improvement No. 64-52. Contractor, Keys Well Drilling
Company. Amount, $I, 003. 50.
Qn motion of Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman
Thiel, the above payments on contract work presented by the
City Engineer were approved, and the City Manager, City Clerk
and City Treasurer were authorized to issue checks for their
respective amounts by a seven yea vote.
