1. GALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor
Kenneth Wolfe at 8;p6 p. m�
2. INVOCATION
Invocation was given by Rev. Ernest Campbell of St. George�s Episcopal
Church.
3. ROLL CALL
The following Councilmen were present at roll cal.l:

Also present were the City Manager, City Attorney, Planning Director,
Director of Public Works, Assessor, and the Secretary.
Counci.lman Thiel arrived at 8:1? p. m.
4. MINUTES
On motion of Councilman Heltzer, seconded by Councilman Ehrenberg,
the minutes of the regular meeting held April 5, 1965 and the epecial
meeting held Apri3. 12, 1965 were approved by a six yea vote. Councilmaa
Thiel was not present.

Howard, to approve a variance from the provisions of the Subd�v�s�on
Ordinance for a cul-de-sac with a forty-three foot radius iastead of
the required six�y foot radius. Motion passed by a seven yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilrnan Thiel,
to approve the preliminary plat of Hampshire Court Addition. Motion
passed by a seven yea vote.

John Bodeman was present in opposition to the project. Glen Martin
3300 Xylon Avenue, and Leland Arnold, 3321 Xylon, were present in
favor of the project. George Strout, 3300 Yukon, and Clint Sprain,
3321 Aquila Avgn�e, were- interested in the cost of the irr�prove-
ment. Mayor `iTolfe declared the hearing closed.
RESOLUTION NO. 2785
A motion was made by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman
hieltzer, to waive reading and adopt Resolution No. 2785 entitled
"Resolution Ordering Improvement and Ordering Preparation of
Plans Improvement No. 64-41. " Motion passed by a seven yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman Howard,
that staff determine how many blocks of side streets are unpaved,
and how many we have already paved and assessed using the formuia
of assessing half way down the block from a cross street. Motion
passed by a seven yea vote.

Avenue, Walter Menzel, G656 Glenhurst, Grant Miller, Z728 Joppa
Avenue, were present in opposition to the proje�t. George Burns,
4801 West 28th Street read a letter from Ed Rouse, 2810 Ottawa
Avenue objectiag to the excessive co�t of the project,
Leland Gottstein, 4123 Sunset Boulevard,was present representing
tweniy-four property owners in favor of the project to relieve wate�
standing in the streets. Clinton Zinter, 2700 Monterey, Burtoa Cenzsj

5. (i) 293? Ottawa Avenue, Ivlrs. Janes, 2668 Glenhurst Avenue, and
Arnold Haglund, 2724 Ottawa Avenue, were present concerning
drainage and cost of the improvement. The Director of Public
Works ex�lained the storm s6wer system for the area. Mayor
Wolfe declared the hearing closed.

to the project. Kenneth Johnson, 255? Georgia Avenue,and Paul

Upon hearing no objection, Mayor Wolfe ordered the report received

9. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
(a) COMMUNICATION FROM TWIN CITY LINES, INC. CaNCERN-
ING CHANGE IN BUS SCHEDULES FOR ST. LOUIS PARK (DEFERRED
FROM APRIL 5, 19 65 j.
Lynn Gerber was present representing the Twin City Lines, Inc.
C. S. Sackrison, 3262 Louisiana Avenue, was present representing
the Parkview Association.
A motion was made by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman
Ehrenberg, to approve the proposed bus schedules as deaigned on the
map shown. Mr. Sackrison requested that action be poetponed for
iwo weeks to allow time to bring in a petition from people in the area
of 33rd Street. Before a vote was taken on the above motion Council-
man Heltzer made a motion to postpone action on the change in bus
schedules until May 3, I965. Mayor Wolfe asked for a vote which
carried.

the amount of $1, 539. 00. Motion passed by a seven yea vote.

A motion was made by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman
Howard, that the matters of Wolfe Lake, Community Center, and
Westwood Hills Golf Course be referred to the �arks and Recreation
A.dvisory Commission for advice and recommendation. Motion passed
by a seven yea vote.
(c) COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 26, 1965.
A motion was made by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman
Thiel, that no Council meeting be held April 26, 1965. Motion passed
by a seven yea vote.

the lists of verified claims prepared by the Director of Finance and
presented to the Council dated April 19, 1965 as amended by adding
American National Bank of St. Paul in the amount of $20, Z50. 50,
we re approved in the total amounts of $8, 138. 08 for payroll, and
$52, 02b. 83 for vendors, and the City Manager, City Clerk, and City
Treaeurer were authorized to issue checks covering same by a seven
yea vote.
