November 22, 1965 CAL,L TO ORDER A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Kenneth W olfe at 8:04 p, m. ROLL CALL The following Councilmen were preaent at roll call: Robert Ehrenberg Frank Howard Robert Reynolds Leonard Thiel Kenneth W olfe AlEo preaent were the City Manager, City Attorney, Dire�tor of Finance, and the secretary. �EPORT OF CIT Y MANAGER (M. & C. NO. b5-37� CONCERNING PROP06ED PERSONNEL PROGRAM AND COMPENSATION PLA.N ADJUSTMENTS FOR 19b6. Mr. John McDonald was present representing the Police Department: Gerald Hines spoke on behalf of the Fire Department; Donald Galloway on behalf of the Volunteer Fire Department; and Larkin McClellan repre6ented street, park, and shop department employees. Bruce Aplin also apoke for the Police Department. John McDonald requested a greater increase in mileage allowance than recom- mended by the City Manager, and also greater increaee iri salary for Pump Station Mechanic and helpe r. Gerald Hines asked for a greater increase in salaries for the Fire Department over the 3. 5% increase recommended by the City Manager� and more vacatioa leave for those ernployed fifteen years or more. The Volunteer Fire Department would like more per call than recommended by the City Manager. Mr. McClellan requested reclassification for those in laborer position in the Park Department and severance pay based on one-half of accrued sick leave. 23? Council Minutes - November 22, 1965 P�ruce Aplin explained the difference in pension benefits of the Fire and Poli�e Department. Councilman �oward requested a report from staff comparing the two plana. It was moved by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman Howard that the City Council meet at 7:00 p. m. , Monday, November 29, 1965 to diecues wage adjustments further. Motion passed by a five yea vote. ADJOURNMENT On motion of Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Thiel, the meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p. m. by a five yea vote.
