L'NFINISSED BUSINESS (a) RECOMMENDATION OF PLANNING COMMISSION (CASF, N0. G4-24-MISC,) CONCERNING REVISION IN "R" DISTRICT OF ZONING ORDINANCE (DEFE�PED FROM SEPTEMBER 14, 1964-) . Mr. Posnick of Chamber of Commerce was present. It was moved by Councilman Heltzer, second�d Reynolds to waive first reading of proposed sefi date for second reading on 5eptember 2�, paesed by a six y�a vote. 205 by Councilman ordinance and to 1964. Aftex� discussion lastin� bettei^ than an hour and a half, the rec�ucst was mac1�, that -the barricade at Pennsylvania and Lake ;t�eet Ue r�moved and that a new barricade b` cons�ructed on �tl�ie �west side oF Taft Av�nue and Lal<e Str��i:, and that the l�arricade a�: Texas Av�nue and Lake �treet b� op�ned to provide exit to th� I�J�st only . It was moved by Councilman Helt�er, second�d by Councilman Reynolds, that �the S�i:aff be directed to remove permanent barricad� at Pennsylvania Avenue and Lake Street and place a temporary barricade at Lake Stre�t and Taft; to study �esults ot these barricades and repor� bacl� to Council and provide a on` vlay outlet on Texas Avenue to provide right �urn on Texas Av�nu� to th� north. Motion passed by a six y�a vot�. It was suggested that the r�cords show that the above motion was pass�d on the insistence of the representatives of the South Oalc Hill Community Association. The City Manager and Direetor of Public IJorl<s requested that the records show that they do not recommend the one way exit onto Texas Avenue at Lake Street. The method of paying the c�st o� this proj�et �cvas dis�uss�d but no action tal<en . After further disc�lssion it was determined to place the temporary barricade on the west side of Taft Avenue. It was further r�quested that memb�rs of th� �ssocia�ion be notified whenever this matter is to be discussed. �e) FIRE SERVICE TO MORNINGSIDE The City Manager stated that he had discussed this matter with th` Morningsi�e pcople and that they would lilce to use our Department for Fir� ��rvice. Before action was taken Councilman P`arson inquirec� if giving this service would require more men on our departmen�. The answer was no . 206 Council Minut�s - S�pt�mbe�.� 21, 196�� 13. (c) It v�as mov�d by Couneilman P�a�.^son, seconded by Councilman F.eynolds, that the Ci�y Manager and Mayor be authorized -to execute agreem�ni to furnish fire service to the �lillage of Morningside. It was mov�d by Councilman Ehr`nberg, s�eonded by Councilman Hov�ard, that the firm of Dorsey •Owen Ma�quart t�iindhorst and ��Vest be authorized -�o r�nresent the City in �the Ridgeway and t'Jestling Cases, on th� I�asis set lorth in letter from above law firm, dat�d September 10, 196��. Motion passed by a six yea vo-te , (e) 1965 BUDGET MEETING It was moved by Councilman Howard, seconded Heltzer, that th` Council meet at 7 p.m, on for Budget purpos`, Motion passed by a vot� ADJOURNMENT by Councilman September 2E, 196�� of six yeas .
