The adjourned me�tin� of �eptember 16, 1964 was called to order by
Mayor ►�Jolfe at 9:25 a.m.
The following Councilmen were present:

It was moved by Councilman Reynolds, second2d by
that the Budget for the Le�al Department be approved
pass�d by a sevan yea vote.
Fire Protection

I� was moved by Councilman Pearson, secondecl by Coun�ilman Ehrenberg,
that the Fire Protection budgat be approved as submitt�d by the City Manager,
Motion passed by a seven y�a vote.
Health - Re ation and Inspection

It was moved by Councilman H`ltze�a, seconded by Councilman Reynolds,
that the 2 Clerk I under Personal Services in the amount of $1,69�.00 b`
deleted. Motion passed by a seven yea vote.
Councilman Pearson requ2sted a statem�nt,b�fore next Budget session,
why Bloomington, �aith Volunt2er Fire Department has a better insurance
rate than St. Louis Park,
It was moved by Councilman Heltz�r, seconded by Couneilman Pearson,
that the City Manager request the Fire Chief to make a vigorous att�mpt
to r�cruit volunteer fireman. Motion passed by a sev�n yea vote,

(Ki.lmer) . It was sug�est�rl fihat the committe� discuss fihe matter with
Mayor Illes of Minnetonlca Viila�e.
It cvas moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, s�conded by Councilman Thi�l,
that any expenditure �or land �'or Kilmer Pa�^k be taken out of balance
in Parlc Hoard Fund (as shown on �ag� 11�), and that th� allocations as
set :�orth on Page 11� be disre�ard�d. Motion passed by a seven yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Pearson, second�d by Councilman Ehrenberg,
that Munieipal Parlcs, Aecount No. 207-4751, page 93B, be reduced to
$1,360.00, Motion passed by a'vote of five yeas and tvao nays. Councilman
Heltz�r and Councilman Reynolds voting nay.

that Item 12, Salaries of Temporary Employees (page 104) be reduced to
$25,000.00. Motion pass�d by a vote of six yeas and on� nay. Councilman
Reynolds voting nay .

that the last mo-tion be recons�idered. Motion passed by a s�ven yea vote.
A motion was mad� by Councilman Pe�rson, seconded by Councilman
Reynolds, to d�.fer. any �urthel� action on Budget approval until September
21, 196��. Motion passed by a s�ven yea vate.
