Davis, r�presenting the Lions Club, state that th� club has money they plan to spend on some part of Johnson Lake project. I-� was moved by Councilman Thiel, s�conded by Councilman Heltzer, that the area of Bass Lal«, �ormerly lcnown as Johnson Lal<e, be designated as pai^-t ol parl< syst�m and that monies i'rom sale of �ravel, lrom JohnsonLalc�, b� appropriat�d to -the developement of Johnson Lalce. Motion pass�d by a seven y�a vote. It was moved by Councilman P.eynolds, s�conded by Councilman Heltzer, that th` Park and Recreation Advisory Commission propose a new name for Johnson Lake. Motion passed by a seven yea vote. 9. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (a) PETITION FROM RESIDENTS ON VJEST 25 z STREET CONCERNING HOMES IN ARLA (DEFERRED FROM JUNE 8, l 96 4) . Harvey Berman, 5737 ��1. 25 2 Street and John ���ordelman, 564� tfJest 252 Street, was present. It was moved by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman Heltzer, that the IHayor appoint a committee, consisting of Council members, to investigate this matter. Before vote was taken there was consid�rable discussion. A motion was made by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Heltzer, calling for th� question. Motion passed by a seven yea vote. Vote was then taken on the orioinal motion and passed by a vote six yeas and one nay. Councilman Ehrenberg voting nay. A motion was made by Councilman HoG�ard, seconded by Councilman Pearson, to reconsider th2 original motion. Before vote was taken there was more diseussion. 133 Co�cil Minutes - June 22, 1964 9. Councilman a seven Vote was then -�alcen on the motion to reconsi�2r and passed by th� followin; roll call vote: Councilman Ehren�ierg, yea; Councilman Heltz�r� nay; Councilman Howard, yea; Councilman Pearson, yea; Couneilman Reynolds, yea; Councilman Thiel, y�a; Mayor t�tJolfe, nay. 1� motion was mad� �y Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Heltzer, amendin� original motion to limit investigation to cheeking ordinane` proc�dures, �tc. Motion passed by a vote of six yeas and on� nay . Mayor i�Jolfe voting nay . It was moved by Councilman Pearson, second�d by Councilman Reynolds, that the original motion r�ad as follows: 'Tthat the Mayor appoint a committ`e, consisting of council memb�rs, to inv�stigate -this matter and that the inv�stigation be limited to checicing oi^dinanc� proc�dur�s etc.T' Motion passed by a vote of s ix yeas and one nay. Councilman Ehrenb�r� voting nay. (b) APPLIC.l�TION FOR LICENSE TO SELL INTOXICATING LIQUOR ON SALE AT NORTHt�JEST CORNER OF HIGHUJAY NO , 12 AND COUNTY ROAD 18 BY ROARING T[VENT IES , INC ,{NEARING HELD JUN� �, 19 6 4, ACT ION DEFERRED) . The City Manager stated that deferment has been requested to July 20, 1964. It was moved by Councilman Thiel, seconded by Councilman Reynolds, that ac-tion on the above license be deferred to July 20, 1964. Motion passed by a vote of six �reas and one nay. Councilman Ehrenberg voting nay. 10 . NE��I BU S INES S (a) REPORT ON KILMER PARK AP.EA .- BY COUNCILMAN HELTZER . Councilman Heltzer reported on Kilmer Park Ar�a and his meeting with the Village �f Minn2tonka regarding land for park. On motion of Councilman Ehrenberg, seeonded by Councilman Thiel, the lists of verified claims prepared by -th� Director of Finance and presented to th� Council, in the total amounts of $3 478.93 for payroll, and $3W-,3�1.00 for vendors were approved as�amended, and th� City Manager, City Cl`rk and City T-reasurer were author- ized to issue checks covering same, by a roll call vote of seven yeas. 135.
