I ; 2 . INVOCATION • Whitman of the St , • 1 Invocation was given by Rev . Allen W Georges Episcopal Church . 3 . ROLL CALL The following Councilmen were present at roll call : Robert Ehrenberg James Heltzer � Curtis Pearson Robert Shank Leonard Thiel Kenneth Wolfe Also present were the City Manager , City Attorney , Planning Director , Director of Public Works and the Secretary . 4 . MINUTES On motion of Councilman Ehrenberg , seconded by Councilman Shank , the minutes of the regular meeting held June 4 , 19622 were approved by a six yea vote . 5 . PUBLIC HEARINGS ( a) PROPOSED REZONING OF LOTS 12 , 13 , 14 , is , BLOCK 25 , WEST MINNEAPOLIS JUNCTION REVISED ( 7100 - 7112 MINNETONKA BOULEVARD) AND LOTS 11 21 31 4 , BLOCK 8 , L ENOX ADDITION ( 7101 - 7113 MINNETONKA BOULEVARD) FROM R - 2 DISTRICT TO R - 3 DISTRICT , AS DESCRIBED IN NOTICE OF HEARING PUBLISHED MAY 315 1962 ' ( RECOMMENDED BY PLANNING COMMISSION) . Mayor Wolfe opened the hearing on this matter , Mr . Walberg , 2450 Como St , Paul and Owner of Lots 3 , 4 , Block 3 , Lenox Addition , were present at the meeting , Mayor Wolfe declared the hearing closed . 163 Council Minutes - June 11 , 1962 5 It was moved by Councilman Pearson , seconded by Council - man Thiel , to waive first reading of proposed ordinance and to set data for second reading on June 25 , 1962 . On hearing no objections the Mayor ordered the notification receiv ` d for filing . (b) COMMUNICATION FROM ELMER CARLSON CONCERNING WESTWOOD HILLS GOLF COURSE . (LEASE) Elmer Carlson was present at the meeting . It was moved by Councilman Shank , seconded by Council - man Thiel , that this matter be referred to Staff for study and recommendation . Motion passed by a vote of five yeas . Councilman Ehrenberg out of the room when vote was taken . 1 . RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES ( a) RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR LVEF[NCEWESOF TAX TION , FORFEITED LANDS ( LOT 10 , BLOCK 1 , MURRAY 8220 WEST 34z STREET ) . RESOLUTION N0 . 2090 It was moved by Councilman Thiel , seconded by Councilman thank , to waive reading and adopt Resolution No . 20905 entitled " Resolution Authorizing Application for Conveyance of Tax For - feited Lands " * Motion passed by a five y . a vote . (b ) RECOMMENDATION OF THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION CODES ADVISORY COMMISSION THAT THE BUILDING CODE BE AMENDED ( TWO STORY APARTMENT BUILDINGS ) . It was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg , seconded by Councilman Thiel , that this matter be deferred to June 251) 1962 and that the City Manager be directed to have the Building Inspector and one or more members of the Building Construction Cod: s Advisory Commission present at that meeting . Motion passed by a six yea vote . ( c ) REPORT OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT . It was mov: d by Councilman Ehrenberg , seconded by Councilman Thiel to consent and approve -the appointment of Kenneth R . Bad ` rtscher , as Probationary Director of Parks and Recreation , Range 26 , Step C , effective August 1 , 1962 . Motion passed by a six yea vote . ( d) REPORT OF THE CITY ATTORNEY ON SETTLEMENT OF MURASICE, CLAIM . . It was moved by Councilman Thial , seconded by Council - man Pearson , to zpprovo settlement and authorize proper officers to issue check for $ 600 . 00 in full settlement . Motion passed by a six yea vote . ( e ) FUTURE PARK DEVELOPEMENT It was moved by Councilman Thiel , seconded by Councilmen Heltzer , that tha Staff make a study and recommendations to the Council on the possibility of our Staff taking over future park developement projects . UNFINISHED BUSINESS ( a) REPORT ON LOUISIPNA AVENUE FROM EXCELSIOR BOULEVARD TO EXISTING LOUISIINA AVENUE NORTH OF MIN AHL CREEK , IM= PROVEMENT N0 . 62 - 27 ( DEFERRED FROM JUNE 45 1962 ) . The following parsons � -were present and spoke on this subject ; Mr . Spry and Mr . Rutherford of Methodist Hospital ; Russell Lindquist , Attorney , representing owners of property in question ; Mr . Mealy , representing IBM ; Mrs . It was moved by Councilman Shank , seconded by Council - man Heltzer , that the Planning Commission be asked to consider the entire proposition and report . It was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg , seconded by Council - man Thial , that the Council do not consider further the matter of a road to the east of tho road shown on the present official map . Motion passed by a six yea vote . It was moved by Councilman Pearson , seconded by Councilman Shank , that the Staff consider the moving of the road to the westerly portion of this property and bring in a report .
