CALL TO ORDER A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Kenneth Wolfe at o : 04 p . m . 2 • INVOCATION Invocation was given by Rev * Stewart Dale of the First Lutheran Church . 3 . ROLL CALL The following Councilmen were present at roll call : James Heltzer Frank Howard Curtis Pearson Leonard Thiel Kenneth Wolfe Also present were the City Manager , City Attorney , Planning Director , Director of Public Works and the Secretary . Councilman Ehrenberg arrived at u' : SO p . m . Councilman Shank arrived at Oe32 p . m . 4 , MINUTES On motion of Councilman Heltzer , seconded by Councilman Howard , the minutes of the regular meeting held October 29 , 1962 , were approved by a five yea vote . Councilman Ehrenberg and Councilman Shank were not present when the vote was taken . 5 • PUBLIC HEARINGS ( a) None . 6 • PETITION REOUESTS AND COMMUNICATIONS ( a) APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSES ON SALE AND OFF SALE . RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES ( a) SECOND READING OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE BY THE CITY OF CERTAIN LAND LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF MINNETONKA BOULEVARD AND UTAH AVENUE , ORDINANCE N0 . 060 It was moved by Councilman Pearson , seconded by Councilman Howard , to waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No . 260 , entitled , " An Ordinance Authorizing Conveyance by the City of Certain Land Located on the Southwest Corner of Minnetonka Boulevard and Utah Avenue " . Motion passed by a six yea vote . Councilman Ehrenberg not present when vote was taken . (b ) SECOND READING OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SALE BY THE CITY OF CERTAIN LANDS BETWEEN WOODDALE AVENUE AND ALABAMA AVENUE , ORDINANCE N0 , 061 It was moved by Councilman Thiel , seconded by Councilmai Heltzer , to waive seeond reading and adopt Ordinance No . 561 , entitled , " An Ordinance Authorizing and Directing the Sale By the City of Certain Lands Between Wooddale Avenue and Alabama Avenue TT . Motion passed by a vote of four yeas and one nay . Councilman Pearson voting nay . Councilman Shank and Mayor Wolfe abstained from voting . Councilman Pearson stated - the reason for my no vote is ; 1 . that the price is lower than appraisal that the Council obtained and I have in my possession . 2 , it commits the Council which is sitting four years from now to building a new fire station and in my opinion there has not been an adequate investigation as to the need of destroying the present station and replacing it five years hence . Motion passed by a seven yea vote . After motion was made the Secretary called attention -to the Council that Resolution No . 2197 had been adopted October 29 , 1962 , so it was declared that the above motion was unnecessary .
