1. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order
by Mayor Kenneth Wolfe at 8;04 p,m,
2. INVOCATION
Invocation was given by Rev. Paul Obenauf of the Wooddale
Lutheran Church,
3. ROLL CALL
The following Councilmen were present at roll call;
Robert Ehrenberg
Torval Jorvig

Also present were the City Manager, City Attorney, Director
of Public Works, Planning Director and the Secretary,
4. MINUTES
On motion of Councilman Messer, seconded by Councilman
Thiel, the minutes of the regular meeting held March 20, 1961,
were approved, as amended by Councilman Pearson, by a seven
yea vote. (Amendments: Item 5(c) to show that Councilman
Pearson presented a list of seven names who desired temporary
paving; Item 5(i) to show that Elmer Rossin was opposed to
the improvement; Item 5(k) to show that John A. Forchas,
2939 Toledo Avenue and Robert A. Dennett, 2940 Salem Avenue
were present and wanted alley repaired after being damaged
during church building construction.)
5. PROPOSED ORDINANCE REGULATING AND LICENSING FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF (HEARING CON-
TINUED FROM FEBRUARY 20, 1961); ALSO COMMUNICATION FROM MR.

Harvey Schneider, 3743 Ottawa Avenue, was present
at the meeting. He was concerned about the parking problem
and the Sunday disturbance that would be caused by granting
this permit.
It was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by
Councilman Shank, that action on this matter be deferred
to April 10, 1961, and that the City Manager be requested
to make a report on parking facilities. Motion passed
by a seven yea vote.

ACRES FOR PARK PURPOSES ALONG WEST 28th STREET WEST
OF QUEBEC AVENUE AND EAST OF TEXAS AVENUE (REQUESTED
JANUARY 23, 1961).
Dick Loftus was present and stated that this should
be kept near hill.

Councilman Shank, that this matter be tabled until

COMMISSION THAT THE PARK CONSULTANT BE AUTHORIZED TO

BASIC TYPES OF PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - BASKETBALL
STANDARDS, VOLLEYBALL STANDARDS, BASEBALL BACKSTOPS,

It was moved by Councilman Messer, seconded by

Ordinance'?. Before vote was taken Councilman Ehrenberg
asked that resolution be amended to read 82 feet instead
of 87 feet. As there was no objection to the change
