CALL TO ORDER A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Wolfe at S p.m. a. INVOCATION Invocation was given by Rev. Donald Patz of the First Assembly of God Church, 3. ROLL CALL The following Councilmen were present at roll call: Robert Ehrenberg Torval Jorvig Curtis Pearson Robert Shank Leonard Thiel Kenneth Wolfe Also pr8sent were the City Manager, City Attorney, Director of Public Works, Planning Director and the Secetary. 4. MINUTES On motion of Councilman Shank, seconded by Councilman Thiel, the minutes of the regular meeting held March 6, 196111 were approved by a six yea vote. 5. PUBLIC HEARINGS (a) None . 6. PETITIONS REQUESTS AND COMMUNICATIONS (a) COMMUNICATION FROM KENNETH CHRISTOPHERSON REQUESTING ADJUSTMENT OF SEWER ASSESSMENT AT 1645 QUENTIN AVENUE, ALSO REPORT OF THE CITY ATTORNEY. 77 Council Minutes - March 13, 1961 RESOLUTION N0. 1644 60 It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Thiel, to waive reading and adopt Resolution No. 1644, entitled "Resolution Cancellincial sss- ments in Part Improvement No. 56,52". MotionPassedby a six yea vote* (b) COMMUNICATION FROM THE CITY OF BLOOMINGTONREQUESTING CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION CONCERNING LEGISLATION TO PERMxT RESIDENTS OF BLOOMINGTON TO VOTE ON THE QUESTION OF ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORE. It was moved by Councilman Jorvig, seconded by Councilman Shank, that communication be filed. Motion passed by a six yea vote. (c) COMMUNICATION FROM ANTON YNGVE, CHIEF MUMICIPAL JUDGE, REQUESTING SALARY INCREASE FOR CLERK OF COURT. Anton Yngve, Chief Municipal Judge, was present at the meeting. IL was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Shank, to refer this matter to the City Manager for advice and recommendation. Motion passed- by assedby a six yea vote. (d} COMMUNICATION FROM ARTHUR G. CARTER: DATED JANUARY 27, 1961, CONCERNING SALE OF LAND AT 65G4 WEST 2617H STREET TO THE CITY. Arthur G. Carter was present at the meeting. It was moved by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Councilman Thiel, to refer this matter to the Parks and Recreation Commission for advice and recommendation. Motion passed by a six yea vote. A motion was made by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Shank, that the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to execute the necessary contract with Minne- sota Tree Service. PROPOSED AGREEMENT WITH ORR SCHELEN FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES* A motion was made by Councilman Shank, seconded by Councilman Jorvig, to approve and to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute on behalf of the City. City Attorney reported that claim in the amount of $35.00 had been paid by the Insurance Company, CLAIMS, APPROPRIATIONS AND CONTRACT PAYMENTS (aj VERIFIED CLAIMS On motion of Councilman Shank, seconded by Council- man Thiel, the lists of verified claims prepared by the Director of Finance and presented to the Council, in the total amounts of $592.59 for payroll, and $42,363.87 for vendors were approved, and the City Manager, City Clerk and City Treasurer were authorized to issue checks covering same, by a roll call vote of six yeas.
