ST. LOUIS PARK, MINNESOTA
February 23, 1960
1. CALL TOORDER
A regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by
Mayor Pro -tem Torval Jorvig at 8 p.m.
2. INVOCATION
Invocation was given by Pastor Arnold Anderson of the Westwood
Lutheran Church.

On motion of Councilman Messer, seconded by Councilman Ehrenberg)
then inutes of meeting held February 15, 1960, were approved by a six
yea vote.

Mayor Pro -tem Jorvig opened the hearing on this matter.
Jerry Byland was present in favor.
Mayor Pro -tem Jorvig declared the hearing closed.
A motion was made by Councilman Messer seconded by Council-
man Pearson, to waive first reading of ordnance
and to set date
for second reading on March 7, 1960. Motion passed by a six yea
vote.

FAVORABLY UPON THE REQUEST OF WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC AND BELT LINE

A motion was made by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by
Councilman Shank, to waive reading and adopt Resolution No. 1180
entitled, "Resolution Granting Variance of Rear (and side) yard '
Depth from the Requirements of Sections 6:064.5 and 6:064.4 of
the St. Louis Park Zoning ordinance". Motion passed by a six
yea vote.

A motion was made by Councilman Pearson, seconded by Council-
man Ehrenberg, to waive reading and adopt Resolution No. 1184,
entitled, "Resolution Receiving Reports and Calling Hearing on
Improvement No. 59w12611. Hearing on March 14, 1960. Motion passed
by a six yea vote.
Mayor Wolfe arrived at 8:40 p.m. and presided over items 9a, 9b, 11a, 12a.

RECOMMENDATION

Hal Trumbel and Jerry Byland, representing the chamber of
Commerce, gave a report of the study made by the Govermental
Committee of the Chamber.
The report concentrated on four locations and graded them
as follows;
lst Wooddale Avenue
2nd pastime Arena
3rd Landers Norblom
4th Creosote Plant
and W.37th Street
Christenson Site (27th & Louisiana Ave.)
Jim Hawks, Planning Consultant, gave additional ideas on the
Public Building Center Site.
The Chamber of Commerce representatives were asked if they
would appear before the Planning Commission and give same report.
