ST. LOUIS PARK, MINNESOTA
September 30, 1959
Adjourned meeting of September 28, 1959 was called to order at
5:15 p.m. with the following Councilmen present:
Herbert C. Davis
Robert Ehrenberg
D. C. Messer
Kenneth Wolfe
Councilman_ Jorvig arrived at 5:50 p.m. and Mayor Lefler arrived
at 6 p.m.
Also present were City Manager, Planning Consultant, City Attorney,
Assistant to the City Manager and the Secretary.
The meeting was for the purpose of reviewing the proposed Zoning
Ordinance of 1959.
The Proposed Used District Map was studied section by section and
the following actions were taken covering certain changes.
Councilman Jorvig presiding.
It was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Messer,
to put Minikanda Oaks Addition, with the exception of Al's Liquor Store
property, into R 2 classification. Motion passed by a five yea vote.
Mayor Lefler took over the meeting at this time and after further
discussion a short recess was taken for dinner.
It was moved by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Ehrenberg,
to put in R4 the lots on the West side of Utah from 32nd Street North _
to the B2 area. Motion passed by a six yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Wolfe; -to
change the RB Zoning to R4 Zoning South of 36th Street and East of Great
Northern Hopkins spur track (Knollwood Area). Motion passed by a six
yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Wolfe,
to put in R3 zoning the property on North side of Minnetonka Boulevard
from Maryland Avenue/to the present Commercial Zoning. Motion passed
by a six yea vote. East
It was moved by Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Wolfe, to
retain the present commercial zoning now existing on the North side of
Excelsior Boulevard, between Yosemite Avenue and Xenwood Avenue. Motion
passed by a six yea vote.

It was moved by Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Wolfe, 111
that the Apartment Building property south of First Federal Building
be put in the RB Zoning District. Motion passed by a six yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Messer,
to put Lot 10, Block 14, Minikanda Vista in R2 Zoning District.
Motion passed by a six yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Jorvig,
to change all property showed as RB zoning on proposed map lying
south of 36th Street and north of Cronstromts property to R4. Motion
passed by a six yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Wolfe,
to put the existing homes in the vicinity of Block 8, Minikanda Vista
Second Addition into R2 Use District. Motion passed by a six yea vote.
It was moved by Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Messer,
to put the property (Kavli) east of Natchez Avenue and north of Cedar
Lake Road to City Limits in the R4 Use District. Motion passed by five
yeas and one nay. Councilman Ehrenberg voting nay.
'It was moved by Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Messer, to put
arena property and property to west boundary of Dr. Fitch property in
the R4 Use District. Motion passed by a six yea vote.
The Text of the Zoning Ordinance was given some consideration.
On motion.bf Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Co .ilman Messer, the
meeting was adjourned at 10:55 p.m. by a six yea/ •;te.
