HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958/06/05 - ADMIN - Minutes - City Council - Regular r- 4 40 440 Special Council Meeting - June 5, 1958 A special meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Herbert P. Lefler at 4:17 p.m. The following Councilmen were present at roll call: H. J. Bolmgren Robert Ehrenberg D. C. Messer Herbert P. Lefler Also present were the City Manager, City_ Attorney, Secretary, City Assessor and Harry Mayeron of Orr & Schelen Engineers. Councilman Jorvig arrived at 5:30 p.m. The meeting was called to discuss methods to be used in assessing the North Side Trunk Sanitary Sewer. The first question discussed was "Should railroad rights of way be assessed?" It was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Messer, that Railroad Rights of Way be assessed for the Northside Trunk Sanitary Sewer. Motion passed by a vote of four yeas. The second question discussed was "Should City-Owned property be assessed?" It was determined that this question should be taken up at Mondays meeting with full Council. The third question concerned "Undevelopable" land. It was moved by Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Messer, that all land in the Northside Trunk Sanitary Sewer District be considered as developable except Westwood Lake, Lutheran Lake, Victoria Lake, Cobblecrest Lake and Twin Lake as defined in the Bannister Storm Sewer report, dated April 29, 1958. Motion passed by a vote of five yeas. Mayor Lefler pointed out that these actions were taken to give the City Assessor some diredtions to follow in making up the assessment roll for the Northside Trunk Sanitary Sewer assessment hearing. On motion of Councilman Ehrenberg, seconded by Councilman Jorvig, the meeting was adjourned at 5:45 p.m. by unanimous vote of fi - members of the Council present.
