C. L. HURD, Mayor ATTEST: JOSEPH JPTAD, Clerk ADJOURNED MEETING MAY 8, 1952 Adjourned meeting of May 5, 1952 was called to order by Mayor Hurd at 8:00 P. M., with the following Councilmen present at roll call: Trustee Jorvig Clerk Justad Mayor Hurd Letter Re: St. Louis Park Theatre Marquee Letter from Harold D. Field of the St. Louis Park Theatre Company, dated May 7, 1952, in reply to our letter to them dated April 30, 1952, relative to moving the marquee on Theatre Building back 31 feet, due to widing of Minnetonka Boulevard, was read. On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Clerk Justad, the Village Attorney was instructed to contact Attorney, Matthew J. Levitt and bring in a recommenda- tion as to what procedure to follow in this matter, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council,present. Motion Re�-_ardina Purchase of Traffic Signals Recinded On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Clerk Justad, motion passed by the Village Council April 28, 1952 (MB 272), awarding bid for traffic signals at Excelsior Boulevard and Brookside Avenue, and Excelsior Boulevard and Alabama Avenue to Langford Electric Company, is hereby recinded, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. 296 May g, 1952 Contract Awarded for Traffic Signals On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Clerk Justad, the bid of Langford Electric Company received April -14, 1952, for the furnishing and installation of traffic signals at Excelsior Boulevard and Brookside Avenue, was deemed to be the lowest bid of a responsible bidder, and the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute contract with Langford Electric for same at price bid of $1,760.00, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Letter to Golden Valley Village Council Re: Drive-in Theatre Permit On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Clerk Justad, the Clerk was instructed to write to the Golden Valley Village Council that the St. Louis Park Village Council is still opposed to Drive-in Theatres, and have an Ordinance to that effect on their books, and they would appreciate it if the Golden Valley Village Council would bear same in mind when discussing the possibility of granting a permit for a Drive-in Theatre along the boundary lines of St. Louis Park, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Inspection of Sewer Inspections Waived - Tom Motzko On motion of Clerk Justad,-seconded by Trustee Jorvig, in consideration of -Tom Motzko obtaining released from liability for failure of Village to make inspections required by Village Ordinance for the sewer connections made at - 2912 Natchez Avenue and 4108 Salem Avenue, due to same being covered, the Council hereby waives the inspection of -above mentioned jobs, and authorizes the Building Department to issue such permits as required under the Village license that Tom Motzko now holds, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present.
