L. Hurd at 8:05 P. M. Invocation was given by Reverend M. C. Robinson, of Grace Presbyterian Church. On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the above request was referred to the Planning Commission for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Gas Main Extensions On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the following gas main extensions were approved by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: #504 In West 37th Street from Colorado Avenue to Dakota Avenue #505 In Colorado Avenue from Oxford Street to Goodrich Avenue #506 In Webster Avenue from West 42nd Street to Vermont Street #511 In Louisiana Avenue from West Lake-Street to 1251 N. N. Line Lake Street #512 In West 26th Street from 2781 E. E. Line of France Avenue to City Limits #520 In Quentin Avenue from Morningside Road to Devaney Street Permission to Place Poles On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the Northern States Power Company was granted permission to place poles at the following loca- tions within the Village, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: 1 pole on Cedar Lake Road between Idaho and Jersey Avenues 1 pole on South -Virginia Circle West of Xylon Avenue Letter Re: Affiliation of Police Department with Local No, 224 Letter from Terrance Gardner, President of Local No. 224, Ameiican Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, dated October 25, 1952, informing the Village Council that the St. Louis Park Police Department are now members, and that in the future that body will be the bargaining agent for them, was read. On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the aforementioned letter was ordered filed, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Report on Examination of Plans for Sewer Extensions & Lift Station Report of Minnesota Department of Health, dated October 1, 1952, on their examination of plans for sewer extensions and lift station (Improvements Nos. 52-251 thru 52-297, and 52-413), was read and ordered filed. Hearing Date Set for Proposed Sanitary Sewer On motion of Trustee Bo1ggren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, December 8, 1952 was set as date of hearing for proposed construction of Sanitary Sewer in Yosemite Avenue from Center of 27th Street to 4501 North, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Letter Re: Street Lights, Fast Traffic, Etc. Letter from Mrs. L. B. TATheadon, 1801 Independence Avenue, dated October 29, 1952, regarding two items, was read: #1 - Street lights for Crestview Addition, (Corner of Independence Avenue and Franklin, Corner of Independence Avenue, and 16th Street, and on Independence Avenue between Franklin and 16th Street). On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the above request for street lights was referred to Village Engineer, Phil W. Smith for checking with Northern States Power Company regarding same, and recommendation, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. - #2 - Fast traffic in Crestview in the vicinity of the Minneapolis Golf Club. On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the matter of fast traffic in Crestview Addition was referred to the Police Chief for checking and recommendation, and the Clerk was instructed to write to the Minneapolis Golf Club regarding same, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Meeting on 1952 Assessments Letter from G. Howard Spaeth, Commissioner of Taxation, State of Minnesota, November 3, 1952 Meeting on 1952 Assessments, Cont'd. dated October 30, 1952, informing the Village Council that a hearing will be held before the Commissioner of Taxation in the matter of 1952 assessments of real estate, at the State Office Building, St. Paul, November 5th, 1952, was read. f • On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, Assessor, R. B. Connery and Village Attorney, E. T. Montgomery were instructed to attend above mentioned hearing, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Letter Re: Quotation for Moving Traffic Signal Pedestal and Control Cabinet Copy of letter to Western Oil and Fuel Company, dated October 29, 1952, from Langford Electric Company, Inc., confirming a verbal quotation of $300.00 for the moving of the traffic signal pedestal located on West Lake Street, to a new location on Minnetonka Boulevard approximately four feet from the present location; also moving the-control cabinet and service pole to the south side of Lake Street and Vernon Avenue, was read and ordered filed. Letter for Removal of Sanitary Sewer from Contract Letter (petition) from Adolph Fine and Leo J. Reifel, dated October 28, 1952, requesting that sanitary sewer be removed from contract for same in Utah Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to West 31st Street, was read. On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the Clerk Middleton, the Clerk was instructed to write Adolph Fine and Leo Reifel that the removal of sanitary sewer as requested in their letter could not be done, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Advertise for Bids for Cleaning Well #4. and Repairing Turbine Pump On motion of Trustee Bo]mgren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the Clerk was instructed-to advertise for bids for cleaning Well A. and repairing deep well turbine pump, bids to be opened December 15, 19523 by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Advertisement for Bids for Painting Water Tank No. 1 On motion of Trustee Bo]mgren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the painting of elevated steel water tank No. 1, bids to be opened December 15, 1952, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Justice of Peace Report of Fines - Linnee Justice of Peace E. A. Linnee's report of fines, dated October 30, 19523 was read and ordered filed. Application for Trailer House On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Trustee Bo1mgren, the application of Ernest Jacobson for a permit for a trailer house to be located on the property of the Belt Line Pay Dump, to be occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Markey, his watchman, was approved, and the Mayor and Clerk were *uthorized to issue permit-:for same to expire May 1, 1953, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Request for permission to Remove Sand and Gravel Letter from Chas. M. Friedheim & Company, dated November 3, 1952, request- ing permission to remove sand and gravel, by use of temporary equipment, so the land may be brought down to a grade no lower than the proposed grade of the new Cedar Lake Road which will be established by the County Highway Departrment ("When the County determines the final grade of the new road, I will then, within ten days furnish the Village Engineer with a plat showing elevations of our final grade"), was read. Mr. Friedheim appeared in support of his letter. He was asked by the Council to furnish a profile and grades, which he said he would try to get to them by November 10th, 1952• Polling Places and Election Judges for Village Election On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the following places were designated as Polling Places for the 1952 Village Election to be held December 2, 1952: ELECTION DISTRICTS 1.
