Collectable in 1953 On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the following resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION APPROVING 1952 LEVY COLLECTABLE IN 1953 RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota that resolution adopted by the Village Council on October- 6, 1952, approving 1952 levy, collectable in 1953, be amended to read as follows: "That the following sums of money be levied for the current year 1952, collectable in 1953 upon the taxable properties in said Village of St. Louis Park for the following purposes:. General Fund $434,989.00 Fire Dept Relief Assn. 41038.00 Musical Entertainment 500.00 Park Board 262926.00 Interceptor Sewer 31200.00 $469,653.00 Building Inspector's Weekly Report The Building Inspectorts report for week ending November 28, 1952, showing that 3 building permits were issued, totaling $$150,000.00, was read and ordered filed. Building Permit to Extend Miracle Mile Building On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the Building November 28, 1952 71 Building Permit to Extend Miracle Mile Building, Cont'd. Inspector was instructed to grant building permit to Wood-Excel, Inc. to extend the building site 17 feet south, or in line with the rear of old Miracle Mile Building for the new addition to Miracle Mile Shopping Center. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. Miracle Mile Rear Yard A Memorandum of Understanding signed by Fred Levy, Secretary of Shopping Centers, Incorporated, Wood-Excel Corporation, and Sheldon-Thomas Company received from Matthew Levitt, Attorney was read to the Council, and ordered filed. This Memorandum contained the list of things to be done along the rear of the Miracle Mile property as accepted by the residents along West 40th Street adjacent to Miracle Mile. Street Signs Ordered On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the Street Com- missioner was ordered to place street sigds at the following locations, by unani- mous vote of all Members of the Council present: Aquila Lane and Cavell Lane Aquila Lane and 34th Street. Street Lights Ordered On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the Northern States Power Company was ordered to install street lights at the following loca- tions, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: 34th Street and Aquila Lane Cavell Lane and Aquila Lane. s ' Fire Prevention A discussion of the fire at Dr. Casey's and Others Clinic at Joppa Avenue and Excelsior Boulevard on November 27, 1952, was had. John Louis of the St. Louis Park `Chamber of Commerce was present during the discussion. Fire Prevention was discussed for the entire Village, and Trustee Jorvig was asked to go into this matter with the Fire Chief, with authority,to act. Civil Defense A letter dated November 28, 1952 from E. B. Miller, Director, Civil Defense, State of Minnesota refarding the State and Federal share in certain items for Civilian Defense was read. This letter was a confirmation of Mr. Millers con- versation with Local Civil Defense Director Ralph La Hue, clarifying the matching of funds available from the State of Minnesota, and from the Federal Government on certain items of equipment contained irf Mr. La Hue's local budget. Meeting Adjourned P, ' On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, the meeting was ad- journed at 9:05 P. M., by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present.
