Licenses
On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the following
applications for 1952 licenses were approved, and the Mayor -and Clerk were
authorized to issue licenses to expire December 31, 1952, by unanimous vote of
all Council Members present:

Request for 22 Foot Driveway - A. J. Eaton 4 .
Arthur J. Eaton appeared and spoke about his plans for a store center in
the area of the Roller Skating Rink. Said he owns Lot 3, Auditors Subdivision
No. 323, and asked that a commercial or 22 foot entrance at the curb facing
Minnetonka Boulevard be put in now while the paving project is being finished.
The Members of the Council felt that only a residential driveway should be permitted
at this location.
Permission to Place Buried Cable
On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded-by Trustee Jorvig, the Northwestern
Bell- Telephone Company was granted permission to place buried cable across Cedar
Lake• Road between Kentucky and Jersey Avenues as shown in detail on the attached
sketches therefore, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present.

Permission to Place Poles
On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the Northern
States Power Company was granted permission to place poles at the following
locations within the Village, by unanimous vote of all Members of -the Council
present:
One pole on Flagg Avenue- and West 22nd Street
One pole on West 22nd Street between Flagg Avenue
and-Jordan Avenue
One pole on Meadowbrook Avenue between Brunswick
Avenue and Colorado Avenue
Two poles on West 25th Street between Huntington
f Avenue and Inglewood Avenue
Proposal for Payment of Back Rent, Veterans Housing - Frank Bye
Letter from Mrs. Frank Bye; 5700 West 37th Street, Apartment "A", Veterans
Housing Area, dated September 29, 1952, in which -she stated that they would pay
$15.00 a month on their back rent until the arrearage .of $145.00 is paid, plus
their current rent of $35.00 per month, was read.
. On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded-by Trustee -Jorvig, the foregoing
proposal was approved and accepted, by unanimous vote of all Memberslof the Council
present.
Commercial Electric Service Authorized-for Lift Station
. On motion of Trustee Jorvig,- seconded by Trustee Middleton, the Mayor and
Clerk were authorized to sign far the Village; application for commercial electric
service for sewer lift station at NE Corner of 32nd Street and Oregon Avenue, by
unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present.
Street Light Ordered
. On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the Northern
States Power Company was ordered to install a street light on the corner of 18th
Street and Georgia Avenue, by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present.
Stipulation Approved -- Charles Schlona
On motion of Trustee Jorvig, seconded by Trustee Middleton, the Village
Council approved- the stipulation now in condemnation known as Parcel 21; owners,
r , Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlong, for $100.00 for the south 12" of their tract and
they will move their hedge immediately, by unanimous vote of all Members of the
Council present. _
Letter Re: Speed of Traffic - 2900 Block, Natchez
_ Letter from Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. Anderson, 2921 Natchez Avenue, dated
October 6, 1952, stating that the excessive rate of speed on Natchez Avenue from
28th Street to 29th Street is causing an unnecessary hazard for the children in
the block, and asked that some traffic signs-be placed-there, was read and referred
to the Police Department for ,checking and recommendation.
Bid Award -- Storm Sewer, Alley. Block 3, Lenox
On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the bid received
October 6, 1952, from Peter Lametti Construction Company for construction of storm
sewer. in Alley, Block 32--Lenox Addition was determined to be the lowest bid of a
responsible bidder, and the Mayon and Clerk were authorized to execute contract
with .the bidder for the work in the amount bid of $817.60, by unanimous vote of all
Members of the Council present.
Justice of Peace Report of Fines -- Yngve
.Justice of Peace Anton Yngve's report of fines dated October 6, 1952, was
read and ordered filed.
. Building Inspector's Weekly Report
.The Building Inspector's report for week ending October 10, 1952, showing
that 23 building permits were ispued, totaling $181,850.00, was read and ordered
filed,

Survey of Village Property Ordered
On motion of Trustee Middleton, seconded by Clerk Justad, the Village
Engineer was instructed to make a survey of Village property located at Xenwood
Avenue and St. Louis Avenue, showing the locations of all present buildings,
by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present.

On motion of Clerk Justad, seconded by-Trustee Middleton, the following
partial payments on contract work in progress, presented by Village Engineer,
Phil W. Smith, was approved, and the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to issue
