Extension of Dakota Avenue Across G. N. Tracks
Mr. English and two other trustees of Westwood Luthern Church appeared
and spoke about the extension of Dakota Avenue across the Great Northern Rail-
road tracks.
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the Village
Engineer was instructed to make a survey for a crossing at some point between
Louisiana Avenue and Dakota across the Great Northern Railroad Tracks, and to
contact the Railroad and Warehouse Commission as to their feeling about a grade
crossing at this point, by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Petition for Street Improvement
On motion of Clerk Justad, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the following
petition was referred to the Village Engineer, and Chairman of the Street Depart-
ment Committee for checking and recommendation, by unanimous vote of Council
Members present:

Melland, 3242 Sumter Avenue and others, dated
March 13, X951, for grading of ALLEY IN BLOCK
292, REARRANGEMENT OF ST. LOUIS PARK. -

Trustee Jorvig arrived at the meeting at this time - 9:45 P. M.
Contract Awarded for Sanitary Sewer 2-K
On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Trustee Perkins, the bid of
Phelps -Drake Company received February 26,il9511., for -the construction of Sanitary
District Sewer 2-K, was deemed to be the lowest -bid of a responsible bidder, and
the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to enter into a contract with Phelps -Drake
Company for the work at price bid of $156,002.25. .Motion was passed by unani-
mous vote of Council Members present.

On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the following
bonds were approved, by unanimous vote of Council Members present -----
JiEATING LICENSE BOND; with Leonard Sicard and
- Lawrence N. Paul, DBA Sicard and Paul as principal,
Fidelity and Deposit -Company of Maryland as surety,
dated October 30, 1950, in the amount of $1,000.00
HEATING LICENSE BOND with Lloyd E. Svitak, DBA -
Airport Heating and Sheet Metal as principal, and
• Standard Accident Insurance Company as surety,
dated March 19, 1951, in the amount of $1,000.00.
PLUMBING LICENSE BOND with Egan and Sons Company
as principal, and Seaboard Surety Company as
surety, dated February 19, 1951, in the amount of
.$43000.00.

A letter from the Fern Hill School -PTA, signed by George C. Aiebe,
.Chairman, dated March.10, 1951, requesting permission to play Bingo at their
.Festival to be held on April 13, 1951, was read. No objections raised. No.
.action taken.

Occupation of Basement Dwelling, Continued
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the request of
Howard A. Orn, 2019 Hampshire Avenue, St. Louis Park (Building Permit #5716) to
continue occupying his basement dwelling at said address was approved and extended
to July 1, 19512 by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Street Signs Ordered
On motion of Trustee Perkins, seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the Street
Commissioner was instructed to order and place street signs at the following lo-
cations, by unanimous vote of Council Members present:
1. Webster Avenue and 28th Street -
2. South Lilac Drive and 16th Street
3. South Lilac Drive and Cedar Lake Road.
Resolution
On motion of Trustee Bolmgren, seconded by Clerk Justad, the follow:1 ng
resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of Council Members present:
RESOLUTION CANCELING WATER MAIN
ASSESSMENT
WHEREAS, it appears that by resolution of the Village Council adopted
October 16, 19501, levying assessments for water main P1-43, the following des-
cribed property was inadvertantly assessed twice, therefore, -
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park
that the assessment heretofore'levied against the following described property in
the respective amount hereinafter set forth be hereby canceled, and the Treasurer
and Auditor of Hennepin County be hereby authorized to cancel the same upon their
respective records:

Claim for Damages - Dr..R. L. Kath
On motion of Trustee Perkins, -seconded by Trustee Bolmgren; the claim for
damages of -Dr. R. L. Kath, Madison,.Minnesota was referred to the Village Attorney
for checking and recommendation, by.unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Employment -Terminated - Harvey Nelspn
The Street Commissioner reported that Harvey Nelson was intoxicated while
on -duty as a patrol operator on March 18, 1951. On motion of Trustee Perkins,
seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the einployment of Harvey Nelson by the Village was
terminated as of March 18, 1951 at 4:50 P. M. because he was intoxicated while
on. duty that day. Motion was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present.
Resolution
Om motion of Trustee Perkins,,seconded by Trustee Bolmgren, the following
resolution -was passed by unanimous vote of Council Members present:
RESOLUTION RE: SNOW REMOVAL
WHEREAS the snow fall in this area this year has been unuasually heavy,
often causing extra burdens on our snow removing crew, and - -
WHEREAS our snow removing crew has worked long hours during the entire
period, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council go on record commending the entire
Department -for a job well done. -

Hearing on Proposed mater Main Extensions _
Pursuant to notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch, March 7 and
k4, 1951, a hearing was had on proposed water main extensions at the following
locations in the Village:
Project 51-16 West Line 36th Street from the West Line
of Lynn Avenue to the West Line of Lot 1, Huntington
Woods Addition.
Project 51-17 Minikanda Park Addition to serve Lots 1,
2, 32 5, 62 7, 8, 92 10 and 11.
Project 51-18 Yukon Avenue from West 34th Street, South
